Welcome! I’m Kathy Brammer and I have worked as a therapist and counselor for over 20 years, mostly with adolescents and young adults. I believe that it is a privilege to work alongside my clients to help them to cope with difficulties, problem solve, and support them to feel better . In my view, therapy is a kind, supportive partnership, and a source of support and encouragement for every client.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker who provides a warm, supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT to help you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, build coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges with more confidence. I’m especially passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults as they work toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being.
My life experiences have taught me the value of presence, resilience, and genuine human connection, and these qualities shape who I am as a therapist. I bring a calm, steady, and compassionate personality to my work, creating a space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported. My approach is person‑centered, collaborative, and grounded in empathy, helping clients slow down, reconnect with themselves, and navigate challenges with clarity. I especially enjoy working with adults seeking balance, meaning, and growth during life transitions.
As a client of mine, you should expect a learning and judgment free space. A space where you will be understandably hesitant yet free and understood. I've dedicated my career to becoming a better therapist for my clients by learning about other cultures and aspects of life that contribute to our mental health.
In our work together, I aim to provide the best approaches to reach your goals and ultimately leave feeling complete and refreshed. With my years of experience, I have helped many clients and couples understand themselves in different ways than they started and make positive changes that they hoped for. Understanding how difficult it is to be open and vulnerable, it is especially important for me to be patient and increase my abilities with engagement. I strive for understanding, respect and authenticity in all sessions and with all clients.
Being on my own life journey, it is easy to resonate with your struggles and appreciate your reaching out. Fear, doubt, and anxiety/depression are often apart of this life and it is important to connect with others in order to address them when they become stuck places. Then, they become the fuel for your better way forward. This has been true for me having experienced mental illness within my family growing up and therefore I feel confident that I can help you with your unique self and life.
I’m a mental health counselor who provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build healthier coping skills, and work toward meaningful personal growth. Ray Grizzel taught college psychology courses for 31 years, including creating and teaching ones on The Art and Science of Relationships, Parenting, Death, and Change, Challenge, and Resilience. Using the information and experiences of helping people in a group setting during that time period, he is aware of the personal and significant issues that trouble and challenge people. In private practice, Ray has worked with children, teens, and adults using an eclectic therapeutic approach. Ray builds on a person’s strengths to create with them the resources and ability to fully live their lives. A trauma-based approach is most certainly an aspect of the therapeutic interactions.
I am a licensed social worker with 8 years of experience supporting older teens and adults as they navigate depression, anxiety, and low self‑esteem. My style is warm, honest, and grounded in genuine connection — I believe people grow most when they feel both supported and gently challenged. I integrate holistic and energy psychology approaches to help clients reconnect with their bodies, deepen self‑awareness, and move toward inner healing at a pace that feels safe.
I also bring a spiritual and integrative lens to my work. My background includes meditation, breathwork, and supporting clients who are navigating spiritual awakenings or exploring their inner world on a deeper level. I have traveled to Peru and Bali to engage in my own healing work with sacred practices and traditional medicines, experiences that have shaped my understanding of transformation, grounding, and the mind‑body‑spirit connection. I hold this work with deep respect and offer guidance that is supportive, non‑judgmental, and rooted in safety.
