As a perinatal psychotherapist, Mrs. Whiteside works with mothers and/or families who are struggling with perinatal mental illness during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I want to work with you if you are between the ages of 25 and 55 and struggle with anxious attachment, people pleasing, setting boundaries, feeling triggered, anger, anxiety, depression, co-dependence, parenting issues, and ADD/ ADHD. These symptoms and attachment style are often related to each other and often related to similar childhood experiences of inconstant or abusive/neglectful caregivers. (ADD and ADHD is not cause by caregivers, however, when it goes undiagnosed in children, there is s strong correlation to symptoms described above)
I help adults (and teens 13+), virtually and in-person, who are struggling with anxiety, depression, sexual dysfunctions, eating disorders/disordered eating, and adjustment issues related to grief. Grief can manifest not just from death, but also from the end of a relationship, loss of a dream, health issues, or any unexpected changes in life. My work extends to helping those who have experienced trauma, as well as individuals looking to improve their self-esteem, strengthen their relationships, and manage stress effectively. In collaboration, from a trauma informed and compassion-focused approach, I will help you in creating a toolbox of techniques to soothe your nervous system while fostering self-compassion and building emotional awareness.

My therapy specializations include but are not limited to, women's issues and trauma. What follows below is a list of issues that clients often bring up in our therapy sessions. The list is based on my professional experiences with clients, but by no means represents all of the topics and concerns that you may choose to address in therapy. Your issues are uniquely yours, and cannot be placed into anyone else's categories. I have found, however, that sometimes a list gets the ball rolling for potential clients!
Some of the issues women bring up in our sessions include (but many additional issues are also discussed):
Worry/Anxiety Sadness/Depression Coping with Divorce
Self-Esteem Balancing Life "Roles" Self-Care
Healthy/Unhealthy Relationships Adult/Child Trauma
Trauma-Related Symptoms and Life Impact
Life Transitions
If you identified with any items on the above list or came up with items of your own, would you like help resolving these issues?
The choice is yours. Therapy is for those who believe that their lives can get better and are willing to work to the best of their ability to make that happen. If you choose to work with me, I will be with you every step of the way, encouraging and challenging you to grow toward your best version of yourself.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I'm licensed in Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont, Alaska, Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, North Carolina. I have experience working with adults and adolescents dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-esteem, life changes and other challenges. I feel it is important for a client and therapist to work together a team.
I believe everyone has certain abilities and gifts that lead them to their calling. With that in mind, I became a therapist because I wanted to help people achieve their full potential in a world where too many people feel unsupported and alone. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families and groups who are open to new ways of thinking and being, and motivated to change. Side note: I am an avid sports fanatic (including some unique ones; curling is one of my favorites!), and i am an enthusiastic dog parent.
While working with my clients, I strive to provide them a relational space where they feel inspired, encouraged, and empowered to overcome their challenges. I have significant experience and training in Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, and work well with individuals and families dealing with long-term and complex issues.
You have the power to start your healing process today. From the moment you choose to reach out for help, you’re already charting a better future for yourself and your family. I am currently accepting new clients and encourage you to reach out to schedule an initial session.
