My name is Angela Thornell, a Licensed Professional Counselor, authorized to treat clients in both Texas and in Georgia. I have worked in the mental health field for over 23 years, and my expertise is related to working with adults that experience issues with both substance use and the common mental health issues that commonly co-occur. More specifically I specialize with helping clients understand the purpose drugs and alcohol have served in their lives so they can learn better ways of coping with issues that commonly follow - depression, anxiety, and trauma that lead to low self worth, no motivation, sleeplessness, overthinking, and low self esteem. Together, we will work to reduce your inner critic, reduce your shame, and heal your pain. My goal is to assist people in working towards fulfilling their fullest potential through healing trauma and overcoming life's obstacles. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, I am Shaqueena. Are you tired of being tired? Do you feel that no one understands your situation or that no one can relate? Are you unsure if therapy is right for you? If you are here, then that means that you are ready and motivated to make some changes in your life. Seeking help can sometimes be tough, which is why I believe that we all experience things in our life that goes beyond our ability to cope and when that happens we need a little more assistance. As a licensed professional counselor, my ultimate goal is to first normalize seeking assistance by decreasing the stigma on mental health. In doing so, my goal is to assist individuals in their healing process, to empower individuals to become the best version of themselves and to help individuals to see that life is completely what you make it. My preference for treatment is to utilize a trauma-informed approach in addition to CBT, EMDR and Choice/Reality Therapy.

Hello! I'm Courtney, a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified sex therapist. I've been practicing post grad for 18 years and 20 years including internship training. I've been providing sex therapy for the majority of this time as well as train and supervise other sex therapists in training. My approach is direct and I don't often sugar coat things. If I see or hear something of importance or relevance, I am going to mention it to see if this something we need further explore together. I'm trained as a systems therapist and often describe myself as "an engineer for humans and relationships." I'm trained to identify and observe patterns in clients and their relationships and help them create change by changing the patterns and then experience a paradigm or mindset shift. As systems therapist, I am not often gathering a bunch of historical information at the start of our work. At times, this information is not always needed, and when it is, we can discuss it down the road. Even with my trauma modalities, I don't often have clients retell all of their traumas; instead, we focus on what is not working for them and address the traumas that are unprocessed or unresolved.

I’m passionate about a holistic focus to helping others on their journey to overall wellness. Helping others increase their self-awareness through talk therapy is key, and I believe once an individual recognizes their personal strengths & capabilities the sky is the limit. I integrate CBT with Motivational Interviewing on my mission to help people recognize what faulty beliefs, and unresolved past experiences may correlate with present day maladaptive choices & behaviors. Recognizing how these negative beliefs & behaviors may be the barriers to living one’s best life is just the beginning of motivation for change.

A little bit about me, my name is Amanda Chilleme, I am a Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Master’s Certified Addiction professional. For the last 11 years I have been helping my clients identify intrinsically important goals, overcoming obstacles, and build the foundation for a better future. My specialty has been working with men and women struggling with both substance abuse and process or behavioral addictions; helping them to find the pathway to a life unencumbered. I also have years of experience treating clients with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, bereavement, trauma, attachment, and personality disorders. As a clinician, I utilize a human focused approach. I am not here to tell you what you need to work on; you already know the “what”. As a clinician, it is my job to help you understand the “why”, and eventually, the “how” (to fix it, overcome it, or just plain throw it away). Your first session, is essentially a two-way interview; as I listen to your story/narrative, and the “rough draft” begins to unfold, WE as a team determine if, 1) I am the right therapist for you, and 2) If you are the right client for me. If we both agree to move forward from the first session, identifying your goals will be your first assignment; giving you the opportunity to do this, helps me to better see how you think and interpret your barriers (i.e. stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, etc.). I am your coach, teammate, and cheer leader! We will focus on one goal at a time. Whether you are just starting this process, or you have been in it for a while, I encourage you to plant that mustard seed, and watch just how beautifully you can grow.
