I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. I graduated from Mercer University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After 5+ years of working in community mental health both at the inpatient and outpatient levels, I have gained invaluable experience working with individuals from multicultural backgrounds and with various severe mental health diagnoses. My experience includes treating individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, grief, postpartum, racial issues, substance abuse, and more.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to gain clarity in their plan of treatment with me. Therapy can be difficult, but I want my clients to have a peace of mind knowing that I am passionate about walking alongside them in this journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is meeting clients where they are at in their journey. Sometimes clients realize they aren't ready to dive into certain issues right away and that's okay! I am empathic, encouraging, and motivating, but I also hold my clients accountable to do the work to reach their desired goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist clients in managing symptoms of anxiety and depression. CBT works well with clients who struggle with irrational thinking patterns, negative thinking patterns, feelings, and/or behaviors to challenge and reframe these thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT offers various skills for clients to add to their toolboxes.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Are you seeking therapy to address a brief problem or reach a specific goal in a short amount of time? Solution Focused Brief Therapy is a great evidence based modality focused on goal setting and achievement. Together, we will focus on problem solving, positive psychology, and goal setting to remain motivated and to achieving any desired goal.

Grief Therapy

I have been able to utilize Grief Therapy to assist clients in managing their various forms of loss (death, relationships, pets, job, housing, etc). I walk alongside clients and meet them where they are at in their grieving process. Grief has stages, but it also looks different for each individual and I am willing to walk that journey with my clients.
