My name is Dr. Katina Pittman. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia with 16 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, and depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session we would go over informed consent and confidentiality. I complete an intake assessment so that I can get to know what is concerning each individual, their history, and their goals for counseling. My goal is to build a good therapeutic relationship with each client one that empowers and supports. I also educate clients further on my therapeutic approach during the first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My communication style involves actively listening, being non judgmental, validating, and being empathic. I ask a lot of open ended questions to help clients truly explore their thoughts and emotions and gain insight into their behavior. The goal is to establish a relationship built on trust and mutual respect where clients feel supported and empowered. I always strive to create a positive and supportive environment when working with clients. I became a therapist because I have always had a desire to help others. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of others by helping people work through the challenges they face. My goal is to see individuals live healthier and happier lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I work with individuals in identifying any underlying thoughts and expressing their feelings. Once we identify those thoughts the goal is to use cognitive restructuring to help replace those thoughts and improve feelings.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I help individuals identify healthy self-care practices, problem-solving skills, and healthy coping skills.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My communication style involves actively listening, being non judgmental, validating, and being empathic. My goal is to help clients truly explore their thoughts and emotions and gain insight into their behavior.
