I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Nurse with over 26 years of experience in healthcare, providing compassionate support to individuals facing life’s physical and emotional challenges. I earned my degree in Professional Counseling with a focus in Christian Counseling from **Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I developed a strong foundation in integrating faith with evidence-based therapeutic practices. I specialize in supporting women who are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and the pressures of balancing personal and family responsibilities. I also work with individuals seeking healthier lifestyle changes, including weight management and overall wellness, as well as couples who want to strengthen communication and rebuild connection in their relationships. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and move forward with renewed hope. By combining clinical counseling skills, my nursing background, and faith-based principles when desired, I strive to help clients experience meaningful transformation in their emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what has brought you to counseling. I will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and the goals you hope to achieve through therapy so we can begin creating a plan that supports your needs. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can share openly at your own pace. We will also talk about how I can best support you, including the counseling approaches that may be helpful for your situation. If you desire, we can also incorporate faith-based perspectives into the counseling process. By the end of the session, you should have a clearer understanding of how we can work together toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to approach counseling from a whole-person perspective that considers emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. With over 26 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and training as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a unique understanding of how mental health, physical health, and life stressors are deeply connected. My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care with compassion, practical guidance, and—when desired by the client—Christian faith integration. Clients often appreciate my supportive and collaborative style, where they feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. What makes my work unique is my ability to blend clinical counseling expertise with a healthcare background and faith-based support, helping clients move toward healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve women who are navigating anxiety, past trauma, life transitions, and the pressures of balancing personal, family, and professional responsibilities. I also work with individuals who are motivated to improve their emotional and physical well-being, including those seeking support with lifestyle changes such as weight management and developing healthier habits. In addition, I provide counseling for couples who desire to strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and grow together in a healthy and supportive relationship. When desired, I also integrate Christian faith and values into the counseling process to support deeper healing and personal growth.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

My experience in Christian counseling involves integrating evidence-based therapeutic practices with biblical principles to support clients in their emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. In my practice, I incorporate approaches such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care while also allowing space for faith-based reflection, prayer (when welcomed by the client), and biblical encouragement. I work with individuals and couples who desire to include their Christian faith as part of the healing process, helping them explore how spiritual beliefs, values, and identity can provide strength, hope, and direction during life’s challenges. My goal is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where clients can address mental health concerns while deepening their spiritual resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that influence emotions and behaviors. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to develop practical strategies that promote healthier thinking, improved coping skills, and more balanced responses to life’s challenges. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that supports lasting emotional and behavioral change.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and strengthen their motivation for positive change. This collaborative, client-centered approach supports individuals in identifying personal goals, overcoming ambivalence, and building confidence in their ability to make healthier choices. I often incorporate this method when working with clients on lifestyle changes such as weight management, self-care, and overall wellness.

Trauma Informed Care

I provide trauma-informed care by creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel respected, empowered, and understood. My approach recognizes how past experiences and trauma can impact emotional, mental, and relational well-being. I work with clients at their own pace while using evidence-based strategies to support healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of safety and control.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify their strengths and focus on practical solutions rather than remaining stuck in problems. This approach encourages clients to recognize their existing abilities and build on small, meaningful steps toward change. Together we focus on achievable goals that support progress, confidence, and hope.
