Hi. I'm Marquita and I've been a social worker for 18 years and counting. I strive to help my clients navigate this challenging journey we know as life. I use some conventional as well as unconventional techniques to work with my clients. I like to start where you are and not where I think you should be.
We will use a mixture of cognitive behavioral, behavioral, mindfulness, and many other techniques to help us solve problems that we identify. I say "we", because we will do this together, but I allow you to drive. That just means I trust that you know yourself better than I do, but I will strive to help you find out just how strong you are and empower you to thrive in your life.
We can do this together!

Healing begins when you feel seen, safe, and free to show up exactly as you are. My work is rooted in creating that kind of space, one where your story is honored, your emotions are welcome, and your growth unfolds without judgment. I blend mindfulness, somatic awareness, and acceptance-based practices with an intuitive, heart-centered approach that helps you reconnect to your own strength, spirit, and wisdom.
I hold every session with empathy and compassion, but also with realness. I believe in truth-telling that heals, the kind that may not always be easy to hear but always comes from love and respect for who you are becoming. Together, we explore not only why patterns exist but how to shift them in the body and in daily life. Our work invites peace back into your nervous system and power back into your choices.
I walk beside those who are ready to stop surviving and begin living in alignment with their wholeness. You do not need to be fixed. You need to be met, witnessed, and reminded of the power that has always been yours. In this space, healing is sacred, personal, and deeply human.

Living with anxiety, depression, trauma, or chronic pain can make you feel alone and exhausted. I know firsthand how overwhelming and frustrating these conditions can be. By seeking support, you’re already showing great courage, and I’m here to help you use that strength. While I can't guarantee a life entirely free from emotional or physical pain, I can assure you that dedicating effort to your own self-healing can make a meaningful difference, empowering you to reclaim your life and joy with renewed confidence. I invite you to honor the bravery that brought you here and take the next step towards recovering the kind of life you most desire. I’m here and ready to walk alongside as you move forward toward healing and growth. And, yes, your emotional and physical pain are real and it is not "all in your head." Let’s get started!
I help women navigating women's issues, anxiety, stress, self-doubt, people-pleasing, identity building, life transitions, and attachment wounds. Whether you are entering adulthood or rediscovering yourself after years of caregiving, therapy can be a space to exhale, reconnect with your values, and feel more like you. My approach is warm, affirming and collaborative, blending evidence-based techniques with deep compassion. Outside of my practice, I find joy in nature, camping, hiking, and spending quality time with my partner and our three beloved hounds. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey to well-being.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Sex Therapist with over 11 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with honesty, humor, and compassion. I’ve dedicated my career to supporting diverse populations, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community and clients managing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be your most authentic self while working toward healing, growth, and connection.
My work focuses on helping clients identify the root causes of their challenges and develop practical, personalized strategies for change. I specialize in areas such as relationship issues, infidelity recovery, pre- and post-marital counseling, life transitions, imposter syndrome, financial and career stress, dating challenges, and sexual health and intimacy concerns. Whether you’re navigating a crisis, exploring your identity, or striving to strengthen your relationships, I will meet you with empathy, structure, and actionable tools to help you move forward.
My approach is direct, solution-focused, and infused with warmth and humor. I believe therapy should feel real, not clinical—it’s a collaborative process designed to help you understand yourself, improve communication, and build emotional balance. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), integrating mindfulness and trauma-informed care to support long-term growth.
Ultimately, my mission is to help you rediscover your authentic self, improve your relationship with others, and create a life filled with clarity, confidence, and purpose. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just a willingness to start. Together, we’ll turn that first step into meaningful, lasting change.

I am not your typical therapist as I started my career in finance and have an undergrad in Business. While I could succeed in this path, I did not find meaning in it. I see becoming a therapist as a calling and not a vocation. I first worked in acute mental health as an advocate, then as an addiction counselor, and eventually after receiving my MSW as a dual diagnosis therapist. I have much empathy for the hurting and have always been drawn to those who have suffered from mental illness, addiction, and the effects of trauma. As such, I have been a mental health advocate, addiction therapist, mental health therapist, trauma therapist, psychiatric director, and behavioral health COO. I feel like I have seen all levels of behavioral health care and use that wealth of experience, resources, and specialized training to help others. I believe that compassion and empathy are keys to change and try my very best to meet you where you are. I also value diversity and have worked with a wide range of the problems that individuals and couples struggle with. Most of all, I am not a respecter of persons and have worked with the homeless to the CEOs of major corporations. I feel that we are all just humans and that we all struggle with similar challenges and problems. I have also worked with a great diversity of people from very diverse cultures and many international clients.
I am an Afro-Dominican psychospiritual clinician. I received a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Monroe College, M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercy College and I was awarded a certificate in Ayurvedic Health Counseling from Kerala Ayurveda Academy.
As a trained integrative therapist, I believe in treating the whole person by addressing mental, physical and spiritual imbalances. I combine traditional healing practices with modern evidence-based techniques, customizing each session to meet the unique needs of clients.
