I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Florida International University and earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 1998. I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida in 2001. Over the past two decades, I’ve worked in various therapeutic settings—including community mental health centers, domestic violence programs, private practice, and school-based counseling. Since 2003, I’ve served as an ESE Counselor with the Broward County School Board, supporting students with special needs. As a parent of two adult children with special needs, I bring a deep sense of compassion and understanding to my work. I actually started my "therapy" journey when I was a child, and I would go with my grandmother, who was a healer, and I was able to be present during many end-of-life events. I also have degrees in journalism that assisted me in learning the importance listening and helping a person tell their story, which can in itself be very healing.
