Hello, my name is Daimian Holiday Scott and my practice is called Orange You Glad Counseling, LLC. I know there is little doubt life can be overwhelming at times and I applaud you for seeking counseling. Thankfully there is support available. I am here to walk with you through difficult times and assist in exploring different skills to find new ways of approaching challenges. I have a specific interest in how the ways we have met obstacles in the past influence our current approaches and with a focus on trauma, CBT, and mindfulness I hope to assist others with compassion and caring. I will work with you wherever you are with the hope of moving toward where you want to be.
During our first session we will be completing or reviewing the intake documents so we are able to establish a baseline of the challenges you are currently facing. This will help me see you as a full person and allow us to craft a plan to work through in follow-up sessions that is tailored toward you as an individual.
Having worked at a hospital for many years supporting those who are going through cancer treatment, I am easily able to gather perspective for the many different routes we experience in life and to hold space in the difficult times. I maintain a deep empathy to honor your individual path, working with you where you to move toward where you want to be while providing support throughout the journey.
I love working with anyone willing to look at themselves and be open to change. My clients are open to learning new skills and often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious. Additionally, I work well with individuals wanting a supportive presence who can see them as they are and support them where they are at.
CBT has been very helpful for clients in improving coping skills, stress management, developing healthier behaviors, and exploring our patterns to lead to less stress.
There are few things we have control over in life and the majority of time we react to our situation and other situations we encounter. By increasing our awareness over our actions and knowing when and how to take care of ourselves we will achieve greater calm.
By gearing our work toward your strengths there is greater change to achieve your goals.
