In addition to my efforts in academia, I work as a neuropsychotherapist and am a published author. My educational experience includes a Bachelors in Psychology from University of Central Florida, a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Graduate certificate in Psychology with a specialization in Play Therapy both from Capella University, and over 225 hours of specialized Play Therapy instruction. I specialize in treating trauma using EMDR and in Adlerian Play Therapy. I hold active affiliate memberships to numerous professional associations which I maintain advocacy and leadership efforts to contribute to the progression of the field of counseling. My journey continues to working at a drug rehab facility where I worked with individuals with substance use disorder for about 5 years. My life then continues to work at a survivor's center where I worked with victims of domestic violence, violent crimes and grief for about 2 years. I also gained experience with the LGBTQIA+ population where I worked closely and ran groups with individuals of the trans experience. Moving forward, I have worked with suicidal children and adolescents that have been under a Baker Act which has given me experience in with family systems for about 4 years.
