Welcome! I'm Leah! It's so nice to meet you. Congratulations on taking the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we’ll start with brief introductions then dive into the challenges you’re facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. A strong therapeutic relationship is crucial for therapy to be successful, and it is my goal to create an environment where you feel accepted, cared for, and heard.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals, couples, and families for the past 12 years, I’ve developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping my clients identify the root cause of their challenges and a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients change unhelpful and often irrational ways of thinking and behaving by learning new coping skills in an effort to reduce emotional distress and improve daily functioning. I help clients identify illogical, negative thoughts by replacing them with healthier, productive thoughts.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness- Based therapy is a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), meditation, and the cultivation of a present-oriented, non-judgmental attitude called "mindfulness." Using mindfulness-based practices, I teach my clients how to adopt a non-judgmental attitude through guided meditation and deep breathing exercises.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy is a future-focused, goal-directed approproach that helps clients focus on solutions, rather than on the problems that brought them to seek therapy. Using this intervention, I help clients find exceptions to the problem at hand and instead focus on the here-and-now and solutions.

Strength-Based

Using strength-based therapy, I help my clients focus on their internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings.
