Hi I am LaTanya but please call me Tanya. My clients describe me as dynamic, person centered, trauma informed, caring, listening, healing, and solution focused. Many have stated, "she causes me to think deeply" "her therapy has been life changing, and saved my life." There is a special dynamic and rapport I am able to establish with Clients that keeps them engaged and returning to their sessions each week. Something you should know about my approach is that I am what you would call an eclectic Therapist. Which means I use a variety of approaches including CBT, MI, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, Schema Therapy to name a few. Together we will help you reflect, heal, learn new ways to cope, gain skills to manage your symptoms, and do the deep work needed to bring lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I will work to build rapport, help you relax and feel more at ease with the process. Many clients call it, "being real" but I like to call it being my true authentic self to help you know you are in a safe space. I will explain the Therapeutic process and together we will explore your presenting concerns or what led you to therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I offer a safe non judgmental space for to explore a variety of issues including your past traumas, current life stressor and other symptoms. I have no trouble doing the needed deep work with you and love getting to see clients experience the kind of growth and transformation they come to therapy to gain. I incorporate faith based treatments for Christian clients upon request. Reach out to book your session today.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have experience and success spanning my 13 year career of working with every population and demographic including Men, Couples, Families, children, young adults, and teens. However, I have noticed that the largest group that gravitates to my practice would be women who are struggling with trauma & anxiety symptoms from past abuse as I have been told I have a special skill set that helps them heal, feel seen, heard and understood. When you commit to our sessions we will do the deep work that will help you experience growth and transformation. My practice has been described as • Dynamic, with a personalized approach • Highly empathetic to people’s lived experiences • Leading people to those “a-ha” moments when they need them most

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice for over 13 years, helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that lead to distressing moods and unhelpful behaviors. CBT is effective in uncovering the underlying triggers of emotional difficulties and empowering clients to break free from the cycle of negative thinking, which often leads to relief and positive change.

Schema Therapy

In addition to CBT, I have found Schema Therapy to be an invaluable tool in my practice. Schema Therapy delves deeper into understanding the root causes of clients' negative beliefs and behaviors, often tracing them back to unresolved childhood experiences or trauma. By helping clients identify and track their schemas, we can work together to disrupt maladaptive patterns and create healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving.

Christian Counseling

I also incorporate Christian Counseling into my therapeutic approach, having received specialized training from City Life Church. This modality combines traditional therapeutic techniques with spiritual interventions such as prayer, scripture reading, and biblical reflections, offering clients a faith-centered approach to healing. These practices support their Christian worldview and help them find spiritual strength during their recovery.

Eclectic

Additionally, I draw on a range of other therapeutic techniques, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. My aim is to provide a compassionate, integrative approach that fosters healing on both emotional and spiritual levels.
