I'm Sherae Green, LMHC, CCTP, founder of Healing Roots Therapy, where I specialize in **trauma, women's mental health, and helping adults navigate life's challenges**. I believe meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves, recognizing how past experiences influence our present, and challenging patterns that no longer serve us. My approach is direct, collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed, balancing compassion with accountability to support lasting growth. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and cultural identity issues. I have a particular passion for supporting women, especially BIPOC women, navigating the intersection of personal experiences, cultural expectations, relationships, and systemic stressors. Whether you're processing painful experiences, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling to reconnect with yourself, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore your experiences and gain clarity. Recognizing that healing is not one-size-fits-all, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and attachment-based interventions. Treatment is tailored to your unique needs, with an emphasis on developing self-awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, establishing healthy boundaries, and building practical coping skills. **My approach emphasizes active participation, self-reflection, and personal accountability.** Therapy is more than discussing challenges; it's about understanding underlying patterns, exploring new perspectives, and applying what you learn outside of sessions. I'll support you while also encouraging you to challenge beliefs and behaviors that may be limiting your growth. Ultimately, my goal is to help you move beyond survival mode and build a life rooted in emotional wellness, authenticity, confidence, and empowerment. Healing doesn't mean erasing your past; it means learning to move forward without allowing it to define your future. If you're ready to actively invest in your healing and personal growth, I look forward to working with you.

It never ceases to amaze me just how often I have to try to convince others that they are worthy SIMPLY because they exist. This includes you! I want to know who communicated to you that you are not enough and why you value the opinion of said person(s); these types of harmful beliefs are learned, not innate. Let's unlearn them together. Most of my early clinical work has been with children and adolescents with focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, trauma and various behavioral and emotional issues. I have worked in high-intensity and high-crisis environments from school to hospital settings. I am passionate about working with and creating a safe space for folks who belong to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I understand that belonging to a marginalized/oppressed group can result in barriers to achieving and maintaining optimal mental health. I am a cis/het woman doing my best to provide care that is equitable and gender-affirming. I'm always learning and growing as an ally; you will always be safe here. I am also always looking at things through a trauma-informed lens. I'm a busy working parent who understands how hard it can be to do it all. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of professional mental health experience. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2008 and my Master's degree in Counselor Education, with a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, in 2012. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, which has given me a wide range of clinical experience and allowed me to work with clients from different walks of life and cultural backgrounds. I am radical and revolutionary in thought and praxis and believe in a liberated and equitable world for all people. Clients who tend to be attracted to me are those who may struggle with a lack of confidence and self-esteem, those who are plagued with "Imposter Syndrome", and those who identify as people-pleasers. I also work with People of Color on healing internalized oppression. My clients are often very bright and self-aware but feel they are missing the tools, accountability and higher-level knowledge to get themselves into action and start making tangible, concrete progress. Additional areas of focus: Addictions, LGBT, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Depression, Coping with life changes, Life Purpose, Multicultural Concerns, Prejudice and Discrimination, Self-Love, Women's Issues Therapy does not have to be a years-long, overwhelming or deeply painful process. Many people I have worked with have remarked that they were surprised at how quickly they were able to feel a sense of progress, where they felt stagnant for years or decades prior. While I am very good at what I do, I can only meet you as far and as deep as you are willing to go yourself. Those who are proactive about their healing work and take responsibility tend to make the most progress in the least amount of time.

My approach is rooted in culturally responsive, evidence-based care—offering a safe space where healing, insight, and growth can thrive. As a Haitian woman raised in a Caribbean household (Wi, mwen se Ayisyèn), I understand how culture, and family can shape the way we experience stress, relationships, and healing. Whether you’re working on setting boundaries, managing anxiety, or simply trying to feel more like yourself again, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and clarity.

Hi, I’m Lauryn-Maggie! I’m a solution-oriented therapist who believes healing can be challenging without always having to feel heavy. So much of therapy involves unlearning patterns we didn’t necessarily create ourselves; from generational cycles to attachment and relationship patterns (just to name a few). I’ll make space for the hard stuff while also helping you understand the “why,” find practical ways forward, and hopefully laugh a little along the way. I am not just talking about change, we’re working toward it together.

About Me I bring a rich background spanning education, counseling, and life’s real transitions to my practice. As a parent of three—with two in college—who has walked through a personal separation, I know firsthand what it takes to navigate major life shifts. My space is calm and grounded, but my style is straightforward and lovingly transparent. I’m here to offer real human perspective, warm encouragement, and practical guidance. My Approach I combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into a clear, actionable methodology. Rather than just talking in circles, we look at the connection between your thoughts, habits, and emotional well-being. We’ll examine what’s keeping you stuck, leverage your natural strengths, and implement concrete tools that foster genuine, lasting growth. My Ideal Client My work is designed for the person who is ready to hold up a mirror, take an honest look at where they are, and commit to doing the real work. If you are ready to move past surface-level fixes, break through burnout, and step fully into your power, we will build a path forward together.

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Florida. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
