Ruth Moricette
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and evidence-based counseling to individuals and families from diverse cultural, ethnic, creed, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. My approach is grounded in collaboration, empathy, and respect. I believe healing happens when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered.
First session
In our first session, you can expect a warm, judgment-free space where the focus is on getting to know you — your story, your strengths, and what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what's been on your mind, what you're hoping to work on, and what matters most to you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and with a clearer sense of how we might work together going forward.
Strengths
I take a strengths-based, client-centered approach that integrates evidence-based therapeutic methods with a deep respect for each person's unique background and experiences. I view therapy as a true partnership — we work together to explore challenges, build on your existing strengths, and develop practical strategies for growth and well-being. My goal is to help you build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to explore meaningful change, even if they are unsure where to begin. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or other emotional and behavioral concerns that have begun to impact their daily life and overall well-being. I welcome individuals and families from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds who are seeking a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to process their experiences. My ideal client values collaboration and is open to developing greater self-awareness, building healthy coping strategies, and creating lasting, positive change.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based approach to aid clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful or negative thinking patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma responses, or relationship challenges. Through a collaborative and supportive process, I help clients examine these patterns, challenge beliefs that no longer serve them, and develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. We also focus on building practical coping strategies, improving problem-solving skills, and practicing new behaviors that support emotional well-being and personal growth.
