Hello, my name is Tesia, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with over 10 years of professional experience. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating stress, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, post-traumatic stress, and experiences of abuse. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals and families with communication and relational dynamics. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, supported, and free from judgment. Many people spend their lives caring for others without having a place of their own to process what they carry. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions while developing the tools needed to heal and grow. I am deeply committed to making therapy accessible and affordable. I understand that reaching out for help is not easy, and for many, it can feel like one of the hardest steps to take. Choosing to begin therapy is a powerful first step toward becoming the best version of yourself, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we focus on getting to know one another and beginning to build a strong therapeutic relationship. This initial meeting is an opportunity to see if we are a good fit, as not every personality or approach works for everyone—and that’s okay. After a brief introduction, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and explore your current concerns. Together, we will begin developing a treatment plan and identify goals you would like to work toward in therapy, at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
One of the main treatment approaches that I utilized is the person-centered approach. I believe there is no cookie-cutter way to approach treatment and I focus on your needs only. Another big approach I use is the cognitive behavior approach. I believe that you can change the way you think, and the behavior will follow.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and grounded in years of experience supporting individuals impacted by anxiety and traumatic life events. I have worked as a trauma and anxiety specialist for over six years, helping survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and violent crime. I also have experience working with incarcerated individuals, veterans, and military dependents. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can process their experiences, develop effective coping skills, and move toward healing and emotional stability.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with adults who are navigating life’s challenges and feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or past experiences. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals who have experienced trauma or ongoing anxiety related to difficult or distressing life events. My ideal client is someone who is open to self-reflection and growth and is seeking a safe, supportive space to heal, build resilience, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
