Hi, I’m Cinthya! I'm a Florida-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker working exclusively with adults ages 18+ for individual therapy. I do not work with minors, couples, or families at this time. In order to give you a glimpse of who I am and if we are a good fit, here are some of the points I believe in and stress with my clients: 1. Perfectionism doesn’t exist. 2. You’re human and that is a part of life. 9. Emotions are valid, even if they seem "wrong." What matters is how you respond. 10. Your worth is not determine by your productivity and/or how much you do for others. You are deserving of love and respect. With all of that said, my job is not to tell you how to live your life—I’m here to help you overcome your challenges while gaining a greater understanding of yourself.

My collaborative approach combines compassion with accountability so that you can develop greater self-awareness, insight, and skills. We will define the problem and your goals before exploring and agreeing upon a set of interventions, pulling from various therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as being trauma-informed. As a side note, I often use analogies to describe therapeutic concepts.

Being rooted in traditionalism, with exposure to the modern, has allowed me to be open to learning about life in new, non-traditional ways. My open mindedness later in life helped me to embrace the process of learning and to be more comfortable with the journey of shifts and transitions that we all go through in life. Through this process I have sought and embraced new paths, which allows me to connect with both young people and adults. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years’ experience supporting, empowering, and teaching both children and adults.

Life is dynamic, and crises are sometimes challenges to produce those changes in oneself and in our environment to grow. I am able to actively be with you on that journey. My tools are CBT (focused on the present) and EMDR, which helps us to reprocess and elaborate the past experiences, especially the traumatic ones, so that the present can be lived fully.
