(she/her)
Hi, I’m Katie, and I’m so glad you’re here! I believe you’re the greatest project you’ll ever work on. I work with individuals ages 11 through adulthood. I graduated from the University of West Florida with a Master’s in Social Work in 2014. Most of my experience is with clients navigating anxiety, depression, family conflict, trauma, and ADHD-related executive functioning challenges. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and equipped with practical tools for meaningful change. Every person has the ability to heal, grow, and make positive change.
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a space where you feel comfortable and understood. We’ll start with brief introductions and talk about what brings you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and any important history that may help me better understand your experiences. You can share as much or as little as feels right for you. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard while we begin identifying your needs, strengths, and goals for therapy.
I prefer a collaborative approach to therapy. We'll work together to better understand the challenges you're facing, which may lead to developing alternative thought processes and new ways to work through the situation. I support my clients while they gain understanding of their emotions, and learn skills to regulate their emotions and improve their ability to communicate with others. Clients will gain the skills to respond, rather than react to situations and people. I use CBT, TF-CBT, supportive therapy, DBT Components, and Solution Focused therapy.
What stands out about my approach is that I try to create a space that feels supportive, comfortable, and genuine. I work with clients dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, self-esteem struggles, and executive functioning challenges related to ADHD. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Reality Therapy to help clients better understand themselves while also learning practical tools they can actually use in everyday life. I also believe therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or overly clinical — I use humor and honest conversation to help people feel connected and safe enough to do meaningful work.
I work best with individuals ages 11 through adulthood who are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship conflict, and people feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day stress. I hope to work with clients who are open to the idea that things can get better, and can recognize that discomfort is part of growth and building resilience. And most of all, recognize that progress is not linear and change may be slow, and that is okay!

Katie is someone who I feel comfortable opening up to while knowing that she will listen and provide feedback. She creates conversations that are thoughtful in nature but constructive with ideas that I can apply immediately. She is warm, genuine and a great person to have in your corner as a therapist!

She has been very supportive and showing me her care from her heart. I sense that she is guiding me to believe in my journey. Am so grateful I have her as my patient.
