Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor that has been practicing for 25 years. I went to the University of South Florida for my Masters in Mental Health and Rehabilitative Counseling. I have worked with children and families, troubled teens, physical and sexual abuse and trauma, as well as people suffering from Depression and Anxiety. I have experience with dual diagnosis meaning mental health and addiction. I look forward to helping you on your journey to better mental health.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will start with introductions and then discuss the major issues you are facing. We will work on the goals you would like to accomplish in therapy together. We will discuss background information and set up a plan for future sessions. I provide a safe non-judgmental environment so you can open up and be free to express all that is going on in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been working as a therapist for over 25 years and have worked with all kinds of clients from all kinds of backgrounds and races and ages. I have worked with kids as young as 5 to adults age 65. I feel like I adapt very well to my clients and built rapport quickly. I have worked with clients that have experienced the most heinous things and help then work to regain control back in their life. I provide a supportive safe environment to all my clients which helps them do the work they need to regain the control back in their life. Helping others is very fulfilling to me and seeing someone make positive changes in their own life is rewarding.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy has helped many of my clients reduce their mental health symptoms and live a more positive life. I have been helping clients for 25 years with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, sexual abuse and other traumas through talk therapy giving them a safe place where they will feel accepted and free to express what is going on inside of them.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps clients identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, and irrational and unproductive feelings i.e. the "inner critic", and we learn to quiet the critic and learn healthier, more productive beliefs and sayings. We retrain the brain in how we speak to ourselves.
