Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. I remember helping elderly neighbors, teaching friends how to count money, and researching services for my autistic brother. There were so many events between those gaps and yet to come. I always desired to help people. My brother’s diagnosis widened my eyes to my calling, but life had other plans for me and I became a secretary. As a secretary, I found myself being hired in the mental health arena, including the areas of AIDS research, mental health, addiction services, and college counseling. Social work is my second career but it's always been my first passion. I pull from both my personal and professional experiences and allow these experiences to teach and mold me.
Hi, thanks for stopping by!
The founding principles I have based my professional practice on are: empathy, respect, non-judgement and self-awareness. Very well acquainted personally and professionally with Anxiety, I have developed a specialty in this area. My approach to Anxiety and Mental Health in general, is one of "working with" rather than "fighting against". I have found it effective to start therapy by focusing on where the client is at on any given moment, and together working our way to where the client wants to be. My therapy style is Solution-focused, with emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, also informed by Systems Theory, Humanistic and Psychodynamic concepts. I have always been fascinated with the study of the human mind, especially the unconscious, and the impact personal perspective has on the circumstances we experience.
Veronica Montoya has experience working with all ages, including adults, young adults, teens/adolescents, and children. She has worked with people in a broad range of areas, including anxiety, depression, substance use, parent-child relationships, self-esteem, decision-making issues, and body image issues. The most important aspect of my work with you will be to build a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship in which we can together work through whatever difficulties you may be facing.
Being a therapist is my first career. I studied psychology with a minor in Spanish for my bachelor's degree and have a master's degree in mental health counseling (which led to me becoming a licensed mental health counselor). There are many reasons I am well-suited to be a therapist but to begin, I am nonjudgmental, caring, empathetic, and open. I have worked in a variety of areas, including private practice, residential treatment centers with adults and teens, and specialized therapeutic foster care with children. I have also worked with everyone from infants and toddlers to seniors. These various settings help me take a holistic approach when working with my clients.

Congratulations on taking the first step towards prioritizing your mental health and wellbeing. Finding the right provider is paramount to your therapeutic success. In any professional relationship, it is crucial to find "your person". Think about your hair stylist or barber, you wouldn't go to just anyone; the same idea applies for your mental health providers.
I feel honored to be a part of the healing process that comes along with helping my clients reach their full potential. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to dive deep into self-discovery with my guidance. Learning more about oneself is the magic ingredient in a successful counseling outcome. My areas of expertise are working with teens and adults with anxiety, depression, grief or loss, life transitions, and family conflict. All too often in our society, our pets are unrecognized as a loss. As a fur mama I am here to tell you, they are significant losses. A few other major, overlooked losses I like to shine light on are ended relationships, miscarriages, loss of health and/or abilities. Therapy can significantly help in your healing process. You deserve to be happy and feel like you again.
Hello! I’m Cindy, a bilingual in Spanish and English, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I provide individual, couples and family therapy services. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida and my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
I'm fascinated by how people’s minds work and develop. When working with individuals, I love to understand how they became who they are and how they can make their lives more fulfilling. I am passionate about improving the well-being of others by helping them grow emotionally and in their pursuit of happiness. I'm curious by nature and enjoy trying to understand what's beyond what they present. That's why I became a psychotherapist.
I've worked with children, adults, couples, and families, and I have worked with a range of mental health disorders. I also have experience working with individuals of diverse cultures and backgrounds including all age groups, LGBTQ+, substance abuse, neurodivergence, and military personnel and families.
Whether you're dealing with overwhelming emotions, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression or past trauma, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!
Hello! I'm Norit Bercovicz (pronounced Nor-reet Berk-o-vitz), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#122569) and a Registered Art Therapist in California. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University, I've dedicated over 7 years to working with with diverse populations, from children to military veterans.
In my practice, informed by personal growth and training, I blend Art Therapy, mindfulness practices, and more to promote heightened awareness. Embracing a client-centered approach, I meet you where you are, whether or not that involves art-making. Specializing in day-to-day challenges like anxiety, depression, and adjustment difficulties, I also guide individuals in transforming uncertainty into opportunity.
Beyond my therapeutic work, I find joy in nature—whether hiking, camping, or on a backpacking trip with loved ones. I recharge by spending time with family, friends, and my delightful fur baby, Shoko.
I'm passionate about working with adults coping with depression, relationship difficulties, substance use/co-occurring disorders, complicated family dynamics, career or academic challenges, life transitions, and the effects of trauma. In our work together, I'll incorporate reflection, curiosity, and humor alongside therapeutic modalities such as solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
I'll hold a safe, shame-free space for us where we can explore new ways to address unhelpful patterns, move through uncomfortable feelings, and be kinder to yourself. Therapy does not need to be scary nor dull. My clients would say I come across as competent and compassionate. No one deserves to do life alone. I look forward to being on your team and tackling challenges together one step at a time.
