About me

Hi, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 20 years of experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate life's challenges. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change. My approach is compassionate, practical, and tailored to your unique needs, drawing on evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward the life you want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll take time to get to know one another and discuss what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, your personal history, your strengths, and what you hope to accomplish through counseling. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether I feel like the right fit for your needs. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and develop a plan that supports your growth and well-being. My priority is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. You don't have to have all the answers before you begin—our first session is simply the start of working together toward meaningful change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring more than 20 years of clinical experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate a wide range of emotional and life challenges. My background in child welfare, foster care, adoption, guardianship, and residential treatment has given me a deep understanding of trauma, attachment, resilience, and the impact of life experiences on emotional well-being. Clients often appreciate my compassionate, down-to-earth approach. I strive to create a space where people feel heard, respected, and supported while also providing practical tools they can use in everyday life. I believe in meeting clients where they are, building on their strengths, and working collaboratively to help them achieve meaningful, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives. They may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or uncertain about their next steps and are looking for a supportive space to process their experiences and develop new skills. I especially enjoy working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the impact of difficult past experiences. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals and families affected by foster care, adoption, guardianship, and changes in family relationships. The clients I work best with are open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and patterns while building on their existing strengths. Together, we focus on creating practical strategies, increasing self-awareness, and developing the confidence to move forward with greater resilience and hope.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore patterns of thinking that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, depression, or feeling stuck, and we work on developing healthier perspectives and coping strategies. CBT is a collaborative and practical approach that focuses on skills clients can use both during and between sessions. I help clients identify their strengths, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop tools to better manage emotions, improve problem-solving, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, recognize what is already working, and focus on the changes they want to make moving forward. Rather than focusing only on problems, we explore solutions, personal resources, and practical steps that can help create meaningful progress. Together, we identify goals, build on past successes, and develop strategies that fit your unique needs and circumstances. This approach can be especially helpful for clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next steps and want to focus on creating positive change in their lives.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help clients understand and process the impact of difficult or traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive environment. This approach helps clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing healthy coping skills to manage emotions and stress. My goal is to help clients build a sense of safety, strengthen resilience, and develop tools to move forward after challenging experiences. I tailor the approach to each client's needs, honoring their individual story, strengths, and pace throughout the healing process.
