Hello, I’m Pahoua. Welcome! In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, it is incredibly easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant pressure to keep everything together. If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, or burnout, I want you to know that you don't have to carry it all alone. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, I am here to provide the compassionate, practical support you need to navigate life's challenges. *Real-World Experience for Real-World Challenges* I bring a unique perspective to my counseling practice. With over 25 years of experience owning and operating my own business, combined with the beautifully complex responsibilities of motherhood, I intimately understand what it feels like to juggle multiple demanding roles and heavy expectations. I use this real-world experience to help professionals and busy individuals: * **Navigate High Stress: ** Deconstruct the pressure points in your daily life. * **Prevent & Recover from Burnout: ** Identify the warning signs and implement sustainable boundaries. * **Build Work-Life Balance: ** Create a healthier, more fulfilling harmony between your career and personal life. ### My Therapeutic Approach My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can let your guard down. Our work together will be collaborative, focused on helping you gain deep self-awareness, develop practical coping strategies, and make meaningful changes. I value accountability, insight, and sustainable growth. Together, we will work at your pace to help you feel more grounded, confident, and empowered to live a life that feels truly fulfilling. Whenever you're ready, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward wellness. **Let's take that first step together. **
Welcome! I’m So Glad You’re Here. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel a bit overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you feel truly heard and respected from day one. What to Expect in Our First Session Our initial session is all about getting to know you at a pace that feels entirely comfortable for you. Together, we will build a strong foundation for our work by: * **Exploring Your Story: Discussing your current concerns, symptoms, and what brings you to therapy today. * **Understanding Your Journey: Reviewing your past medical and mental health history to get a holistic view of your well-being. * **Setting Your Goals: Identifying what you hope to gain from therapy and mapping out realistic, actionable steps to help you reach those goals. --- ### A Little Insight Into My Approach: The Power of Regulation I believe true healing involves both the mind and the body. To give you a glimpse into how powerful somatic and emotional grounding can be, I love sharing this unique insight from equine therapy: > Did you know that the steady rhythm of a horse’s heart can actually calm a human nervous system? When we are near or touching a horse, our breathing and heart rate often begin to slow and sync with the horse’s calm, consistent heartbeat. While we may not always have a horse in the room, I bring this same focus on **natural regulation, emotional grounding, and co-regulation** into our sessions. Together, we will work to reduce anxiety, create a deep sense of safety, and foster the connection you need to heal and thrive. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward wellness. **Let’s take that first step together. **
Pahoua is passionate about helping individuals manage stress before it develops into burnout, depression, or anxiety. She believes everyone benefits from having the right support and provides a professional, reliable, and compassionate space where clients feel heard and understood. She integrates evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. These approaches have helped many individuals process trauma, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and develop healthier thought patterns and coping strategies. Through these methods, clients can work toward healing past experiences, building resilience, and creating meaningful change in their daily lives. Outside of her work as a therapist, Pahoua enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. She loves hiking, running, and walking with her husband, children, and their two dogs. She also enjoys creative outlets such as crocheting, painting, drawing, and baking. She loves working with horses and has a passion for working with rescued horses.
