Olivia Oliver
I'm a trauma-informed therapist working with teens and adults to navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, self-doubt, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative, with space to process while also building practical tools for change. Navigating your healing is a process and journey that you don't have to walk alone. Therapy can be your place to finally exhale. I strive to create a supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered along your healing journey. I welcome adolescents and adults and am currently accepting new clients.
First session
In our first session, I focus on helping you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to change, and begin identifying goals and next steps together without pressure to share more than you're ready for.
Strengths
I bring warmth, empathy, honesty, and a down-to-earth style to sessions. I know when to hold space and when to gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I also integrate trauma-informed care, mind-body techniques, and EMDR when appropriate.
Ideal clients
My ideal client may be navigating anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, relationship challenges, stress, or a major life transition. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward. They are looking for a safe and supportive space to better understand themselves, process their experiences, gain insight, build practical coping tools, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable and sustainable.
Treatment methods
EMDR
EMDR is a structured therapy that helps clients process distressing memories and experiences that may still feel emotionally stuck. I use it to help reduce the intensity of painful memories, shift negative beliefs, and support a greater sense of safety, control, and emotional relief.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients make space for difficult thoughts and emotions without letting them control every decision. We focus on building psychological flexibility, identifying personal values, and taking meaningful steps towards the life you want even when discomfort is present.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients notice how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and practice more balance ways of responding to stress, anxiety, and difficult situations.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT skills to help clients manage intense emotions, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and respond more effectively in difficult moments. We may focus on mindfulness, emotional regulation, communication, and practical coping tools that can be used outside of therapy.
Psychodynamic
I use psychodynamic therapy to help clients understand how past experiences, relationships, and long-standing patterns may be influencing their thoughts, emotions, and relationships today. We explore these connections to increase insight and create opportunities for healthier choices and change.
