I started my career as a marriage and family therapist working in residential settings with youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. As a child, I experienced trauma when my family had to flee as refugees from a war-torn country. Applying my own history and experiences, I am able to connect with my clients, understand their experiences, and help them deal with their trauma head-on. As a clinician, I try to understand each individual holistically, including their background and the strengths they already possess, to provide an individualized approach.

I’m Steven Frank. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), licensed in California and living in Seattle, Washington. The way the law works is that if I have a California license, I can live outside of California, but can only work with California residents. For that reason, all my work is perforyemed online through telehealth. I see primarily adults and seniors in my practice and while I work mostly withindividuals, I will also see couples when needed. I’ve been licensed since 1983 but actually began to “grow” a private practice beginning in 1990. While most of my experience has been with clients dealing with depression and anxiety, over the last 4-5 years I’ve been more focused on the treatment for symptoms of trauma and abuse. I’ve been trained in EMDR (a specific treatment for trauma), and will use that method as needed, when appropriate, and with your understanding of the process, and consent. By the way, my first job experience (before beginning my schooling for the MFT license), was in the California State Hospital system as a psychiatric technician. I was a member of a hospital inpatient treatment team that treated people with severe mental disorders. This was excellent training for working with clients who are seeking help, but on an outpatient basis.

Hi, I'm Dr. Alysha! Are you ready to Empower your Mental Health? By creating a safe place for processing and expression, I support persons on their unique healing journey to strengthen authenticity and resiliency. My overall approach uses psychodynamic talk therapy, offering space to those wanting to explore new perspectives, reframes, and change. When we internalize or suppress our emotions and experiences of adversity, we may be faced with lasting emotional trauma that impacts our entire well-being. However there is power in validation and relatability and that is why I utilize a client-centered, strengths-based method, with consideration for relational, intersectional, and social justice contexts. I don’t consider myself an advice giver, but instead, I will collaborate with you to recognize your choices and help you make the best one for yourself. My objective is for you to feel empowered by reducing emotional burdens, developing coping strategies, identifying resources, and enhancing your strengths. You will be treated with respectful, objective, non-biased assistance. I believe that with the right amount of support, guidance, and compassion, our capabilities are endless. **Please note Relational Therapy (couples and families) is Cash Only at $200 per session. Individual cash sessions are $150**

In addition to my work in psychology, I have a background in the creative arts as a Grammy award-winning songwriter and a published novelist. Because of this added dimension, some of my clients have welcomed suggestions for excellent stories, novels, movies, or television shows that depict characters who face similar challenges to their own and our discussions of these works and characters have provided these clients with another valuable source of understanding and growth. On a personal note, I grew up on the East Coast before relocating to California and I’m the father of two daughters.

I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work as a therapist. I am bipolar and have navigated my own journey through psychiatric institutions and related adversity throughout my life, giving me deep insight into the challenges and triumphs of living with mental health conditions. Professionally, I have worked in psychiatric residential settings, addiction medicine facilities (still do) and family practice settings, which have shaped my understanding of effective, compassionate care. I utilize a lot of somatic and sensory-based tools focusing on emotion and nervous system regulation, including brainspotting, sound therapy, aromatherapy, meditation techniques and other mindfulness tools. Alongside these approaches, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to examine and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping strategies. I have extensive experience supporting clients with addictions, complex PTSD and trauma history, ADHD, BPD, bipolar, schizophrenia and other psychiatric conditions, allowing me to meet individuals with both compassion and clinical expertise. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel supported, reconnect with themselves, cultivate resilience, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

I really love being a therapist, and it’s so rewarding to support people on their journeys of self-discovery. In many ways, I get to give back the same kind of support that therapy gave me. Over time, I’ve come to see that things like anxiety, depression, chronic illness, or struggles in relationships and careers often show up when something’s off in the mind-body-spirit connection. I’ve been through my own path of growth and transformation, and along the way, I picked up some powerful tools that I truly believe can help you find more healing, love, peace, and purpose in your life. I help adults facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and PTSD find ways to manage overwhelming thoughts, build structure in their lives, and reconnect with who they truly are. While I welcome clients of all backgrounds, I have a special focus on supporting men—especially men of color—who are navigating the pressures of masculinity, cultural expectations, and personal healing. My approach is structured but down-to-earth. You don’t need the perfect words or even a clear idea of what’s wrong—if you’re showing up, you’re already doing something meaningful. Together, we’ll figure out the rest and take steps that make sense for you. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Brainspotting—blending practical strategies with deeper self-exploration. This allows us to address challenges from multiple angles, helping you not only cope but grow in ways that last. In addition to my general practice, I specialize in creating a space where men can explore mental health in a safe, non-judgmental, and culturally aware environment—tackling everything from emotional regulation and relationship struggles to questions of identity and purpose.

Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) who's been practicing for the past 7 years. I primarily work with adults who may be struggling with a variety of issues: anxiety, depression, work stress/career transitions, ADHD/ADD, anger management, and eating disorders. I have a passion for working with adults dealing with issues related to their relationship with food and/or body image concerns - finding myself serving as a co-chair of the Male Eating Disorder Special Interest Group (SIG) for the Academy for Eating Disorders.

Hello! My name is Marcellus. Do you find that you get "stuck" along your life's journey and could use a little support making your way? Do your relationships with others or yourself, past or present, get in the way or create barriers for you? The spaces and places we find ourselves in along life's journey can be distressing, problematic, and/or harmful. Being able to navigate those areas of life in an adaptive way can be beneficial to our well-being. I compare therapy to a car's navigation system, you know the destination and have to do the driving and the therapist offers routes and options for you to take. Working together, you can reach your destination safely and at your own pace.

Hello! Are you overwhelmed, stressed out, angry, or maybe in a funk and not sure why? You are not alone! I work with many teens and young adults in the same boat and am excited to work with you to get yourself back on track and feeling good. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and Certified Case Manager. I have worked in a variety of settings with a focus on the teen population since 2001 such as wilderness therapy programs, high schools/boarding schools and rehabilitation/psychiatric hospitals. I enjoy helping teens and young adults up to 25 years of age find their own path and believe that everyone has many answers within themselves. Sometimes these answers are hard to find when life gets in the way. With some self reflection, new awareness and processing it's exciting to see how things can begin to change with some new perspective and development of new stories we tell ourselves. As a result of this work, our lives moving forward can be elevated and begin to move in the right direction. I am honored to help clients in their journey to find peace, inspiration and motivation to be the best they can be! *Please note for clients in the Truckee/Tahoe area option for in person (in addition to virtual) *
