Austin Johnson

LMFT (he/him)1 year of experience

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I help with anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma, and life changes. My style is warm, direct, and open.

I help individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and life challenges through a supportive, collaborative approach that combines genuine understanding with practical CBT strategies for meaningful change.

I use CBT and client-centered care to help you feel heard, build new skills, face hard times, and make real progress at your own pace, step by step.

First session

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss what brought you to therapy, and explore what you hope to achieve. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences and goals while creating a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment where you can share at your own pace.

Strengths

I bring empathy, patience, and a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach. I balance genuine listening with practical CBT strategies, helping clients identify patterns, develop coping skills, and work toward meaningful goals at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

Ideal clients

I work with clients who feel stuck, anxious, down, or overwhelmed by life, work, or relationships. You may want to feel more at ease, build trust, set goals, or find better ways to cope. You do not need to have it all figured out. We can work as a team to find a path that fits you and your needs.

Origin story

I became a therapist because I value helping people feel understood, navigate difficult experiences, and recognize their capacity for growth. I believe everyone deserves a supportive space to explore challenges, build confidence, and develop the tools needed to create meaningful change.

Ongoing work together

Our work together will be collaborative and tailored to your needs. Using CBT and client-centered approaches, we'll explore thought patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful goals. We'll regularly check in on your progress, recognize improvements, and adjust our approach as your needs evolve.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore healthier perspectives, and develop practical coping strategies. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client's needs, helping them manage challenges, build confidence, and make meaningful changes in their daily lives.
