I am currently a marriage and family therapist licensed in the state of California. As a clinician I have 5+ years’ experience working in residential care as well as community mental health treating children, adolescents, and adults who suffer from various challenges and diagnosis. I have also now worked remotely for 3+ years providing individual therapy to all ages and populations. In treatment, I believe that each and every person has the power and the courage to face their trauma and find fulfillment and joy in their lives. I view trauma as the root cause for the majority of mental health problems and diagnoses. I believe that treating trauma is the foundation for each client to heal and find wellness in their lives. In the therapeutic process I believe the therapist and client should work together collaboratively to establish wellness goals and a plan to reach those goals. I have been trained in multiple trauma therapy modalities including EMDR, TF-CBT, EFT(emotional freedom technique), and mindfulness. I have used each of these techniques in treatment to process traumatic memories and heal trauma associated symptoms. I have also utilized EMDR to manage chronic pain and sensory issues. Outside of trauma therapy I have treated and managed individuals challenged with ADHD, Autism, and Learning disabilities. I have been trained in ABA and Pivotal Response when working with youth and adolescents with these diagnoses.
In our first session we will engage in brief introductions as well as reviewing informed consent, HIPAA laws, and the therapy process. We will then complete an intake where I will gather information to develop a diagnosis and treatment plan that will guide your therapy process.
The primary treatment methods I utilize is an integrated approach with a foundation centered in Humanistic unconditional positive regard and active listening. The other treatment modalities I will utilize throughout treatment, dependent on diagnosis and client goals, are EMDR, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness.
I believe my biggest strength is my ability to continually learn from my clients. I feel that each client is unique and that I can learn along with their therapeutic experience to provide the most effective care for each individual. I find this especially important when working with trauma as each client's experience is unique and will take adjusting and learning along the way to find healing and growth.
