Thirty years of experience as a clinical social worker in health and mental health settings have developed my compassion, knowledge, and skills to help people find a path toward growth and a more satisfying life. My approach is pragmatic and empathetic, using treatment knowledge and skills to help you discover a new way of relating to yourself, to others, and to your experiences. I can support you in the process of change, which most humans find uncomfortable and challenging even when we know it is necessary for growth.
Is this the first time you thinking about having therapy? Let's talk about what therapy is and is not. Tell me your expectations. Therapy is in part, talking about how you are feeling whether you have depression, anxiety, or feel overwhelmed by your work, family or relationships or by all three . But that is just the beginning. My name is Judith Copeland, I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I want to help you achieve the positive changes would you like to see in your life.
Do you feel you cannot cope, have no self-esteem or don’t even know what will make you happy? Together we will uncover your strengths and you will learn the skills you need to better manage your emotions. I use several treatment methods including, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Integrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to tailor your care to your specific needs.
We will explore what is holding you back from achieving your goals and help you heal from past traumas. You will learn how your negative beliefs influence your mood and get in the way of your happiness. Often, we forget that everything is connected. Mind, Body, and Spirit. We need to take care of ourselves physically, psychologically, and spiritually. We often don’t really understand how deeply connected they are to our well-being. I will help you learn that self-care is just as important and or even more important as everything else you do.
We have within ourselves the ability to create the life we want and become the person we want to be. I would like to support you on this journey and look forward to meeting you.
Life is hard. In this fast-paced world, we rarely take time to take care of ourselves. We end up exhausted and unhappy, feeling alone in our struggles. If you’re reading this it means you’re thinking of making a change and I’m here to help guide you and support you. With over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and children I provide a warm and nonjudgmental place, helping clients to tap into their strengths, understand and express their emotions, and accept and love themselves.
The process of change begins with taking small steps. I invite you to take that first step, of making an appointment to explore what possibilities of insight and change lie ahead.

Over human history, people have mostly lived in close-knit communities. This has eroded with the advances in transportation and technology. Most people have lost much of the social support our forebearers enjoyed. Mental Health Professionals have taken on this role in their respective communities and are an excellent resource for you to realize your strengths and improve your well-being. When your car breaks down you take it to a mechanic. When your tooth hurts you see a dentist. When your mental health can use a “tune-up,” see a Mental Health Professional!
Have you been struggling with anxiety and/or lack of direction? Are you critical of yourself and feeling negative and sad? Do you have issues in your past you feel are impacting your present? Are you challenged by a life transition? Change is hard and not always smooth. Sometimes we get in our own way toward the life we want to live. I can help gain perspective and look at whether your thoughts and behaviors are helping you along your path or hindering your way. We can look at how patterns, thoughts and behaviors that might have been adaptive from a less than perfect past might be getting in your way now.
I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral approach to look at thoughts and behaviors and what would serve you best. Incorporating positive psychology, support and compassion you will have assistance on life’s sometimes/occasionally meandering path.
As a Black clinician, I also provide a unique perspective by integrating a strong multicultural framework to fully understand your experiences, relationships and the way you navigate to the world around you. Brionne (Bri) Clemons is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, born and raised in the heart of Los Angeles.
