There are moments in your life where you may experience something for the first time. You may feel alone, overwhelmed or different. You are not alone. I support individuals that are seeking guidance in an unexpected and expected shift in their life.

I support individuals that are seeking guidance in an unexpected and expected shift in their life.

My hope is that you can leave sessions with me feeling like you can cross pollinate new tools and live a sweeter life. You don't have to carry the weight on your own.

First session

In your first session, you may notice that I will be spending time building a relationship with you. I focus on some key issues, however, I gather more about you as a person and your current need. I use a guide and assessment to actively listen on what the core issues are. From there, I am reflective and can provide some goals. Although I have a clinical lens, I give the viewpoint of the client when deciding on goals for treatment. I am warm, accepting and I welcome you into your space and help you settle in to a new journey of self discovery.

Strengths

In your first session, you may anticipate that I will be spending time building a relationship with you. I focus on some key issues, however, I gather more about you as a person to start. I welcome you into your space and help you settle in to a new journey of self discovery. From there, I am extremely interactive and will attempt to make the space most relaxing. While the focus and topics can be sensitive and disheartening to share, I tend to lean into realism, sometimes humor, to maintain a space that feels safe. The really unique aspect of my sessions is that I have the ability to change course based on the needs. I can bring in readings, share resources, talk about everyday topics and yet make it relevant to the goals of therapy. I am absolutely not right in every moment but I do all I can to make the moments teachable.

Ideal clients

As a client, I hope to add to skills of someone who is open-minded and self determined. If you are looking to work with me, I can easily determine you are looking to make changers in your life, and you are also open to trying more. I typically support clients that are in a new phase of life, transitioning, experiencing worry about the future, struggling to make decisions, or having self identity challenges. However, that does not exhaust my list of an ideal client.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I gather your thought record, understand what you are feeling from the the thought and support the behaviors your present. This can be with providing coping skills or ways to challenge the thoughts.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I am going to support you from the whole person perspective. This may mean that you are sharing and I am mostly guiding.

Strength-Based

I may use a form of "person-first" language so that you are able to hear the good and growth in your life. An example may be " you are a person living with anxiety" and not "you are an anxious person".

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

There may be times where I am using language and culture to connect with you.

Motivational Interviewing

I may challenge you to see the big picture of change and changes that will get you to your overall goal.
