Hello, I’m Cristina Osollo! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 12 years of experience. My primary focus is substance abuse, depression, trauma, anxiety, and relationship discord. I take an integrative approach to therapy, using evidence-based frameworks to provide concrete tools and strategies for symptom reduction and deeper exploration. I believe we all have what it takes to create the life we are meant to live. I invite you to take the step of finding out what is possible for you. Through a process of discovery, awareness, and a commitment to self-understanding, there is a hope of embodying your truest self. Bringing a delicate balance of effort, care, and experience, it would be my privilege to accompany you on this intimate and very often, deeply satisfying journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will spend time gathering information about your symptoms, personal history, and any significant experiences that shape your current challenges. This helps me gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation and tailor our work together to your needs. I will also take time to orient you to the therapeutic process, explaining how our sessions will work, what to expect, and how we can collaborate to achieve goals. My aim is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you feel heard and understood, setting the foundation for our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, non-judgmental, and welcoming space where clients feel truly heard and understood. Clients often share that they feel comfortable opening up with me, knowing that they will be met with empathy, genuine care, and respect for their unique experiences. I excel at active listening and establishing a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust. This foundation allows us to work collaboratively, empowering clients to explore their challenges openly and confidently as we work together toward growth and healing.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best suited to work with clients who are motivated and ready to engage actively in their therapeutic journey. My ideal clients are those who are open to partnering in therapy to learn practical skills for managing distress, improving emotional well-being, and enhancing daily functioning. They are eager to explore new strategies, reflect on their experiences, and take actionable steps toward personal growth. I enjoy collaborating with individuals who are committed to developing self awareness and resilience, and who appreciate a structured yet compassionate approach focused on making meaningful change in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In a therapy session, I utilize CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) by actively guiding clients to identify and challenge their negative thoughts and beliefs, then work together to develop coping mechanisms and behaviors to replace them with more positive and realistic ones, often using techniques like cognitive restructuring, exposure therapy, and behavioral activation, while emphasizing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients who misuse substances or who have substance use disorders (SUDs) strengthen their motivation and commitment to change their substance use behaviors.
