My name is Michelle Granillo and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in La Quinta, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I became licensed in 2017, however have been practicing since 2012. I have experience working with adolescents, families, and individuals. Emotions are the language of energy. In this language, there are critical messages to be understood. Emotions communicate what your needs are. Your mind translates this information so that needs can be met. Sometimes, it feels unsafe to acknowledge your emotions so the intellect, instead, pushes emotions down. With emotions silenced, you become deprived of connection to yourself, to others and needs go unmet. In this deprivation, you also lose authenticity. The call to acknowledgement returns, again and again, louder and louder.
We can collaborate together to learn this language and to recover the gold of your authentic self. Its already there, where it has always been. Who you really are is full of potential, courageous, confident and quite worthy of connection. When you know this, there is an energy that arises as well. A motivation for action.
Wherever you are at on this journey, is where I want to meet you. What a victory that you have already taken the brave step of searching for a therapist. Celebrate that. Perhaps the next movement is to reach out. We can explore next incremental steps from there.

Are you feeling lost or stuck in some aspect of your life and finding it hard to move forward? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? With your permission, I help to hold the container for deeper exploration and healing.
I am a trauma-focused therapist, certified in EMDR and trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. I’m originally from Southern California, the traditional homelands of the Tongva (Gabrielino) and Chumash peoples, and I’m now based in Colorado, on the ancestral lands of the Arapaho, Ute, and Cheyenne peoples. I offer virtual individual therapy to clients in both states.
I believe that each of us possesses an internal source of wisdom that can be cultivated through psychotherapy, psychedelic medicines, meditation practices, yoga and other connecting practices that link the brain, body and spirit.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in mindfulness, compassion, curiosity, and respect. I often draw from concepts rooted in Buddhist psychology and contemplative traditions. I frequently incorporate EMDR as an evidence-based method for working with both acute and developmental trauma, along with parts work (IFS). I am attentive to the impact of a person’s social, physical, and cultural environment, as well as systems of oppression. Clients describe my approach as warm, relational, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed.
I cannot do the work for you, but I can help you along the way, and it is truly an honor and a joy for me.
We are all the same! Part of the human experience is facing many challenges in our lifetime. By the same token, humans are wired to be resilient and can thrive in any circumstance. I believe that each of us possesses inner wisdom. Therefore, I can help you with life struggles by drawing from your strengths, internal resources, and a balance of evidence-based practices.
In our sessions, I will provide education and tools to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, manage anger, stress, deal with relationship issues, and life transitions. Hello, and welcome! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 17 years of experience in medical social work, and I’m now bringing that deep, compassionate care into private practice. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with individuals and families navigating some of life’s most challenging moments—chronic illness, hospitalization, loss, and major life transitions.
My healthcare background has given me a unique perspective on the connection between physical and emotional well-being. I understand how medical issues can impact mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life. I’ve supported patients and families through grief, anxiety, depression, caregiving stress, and adjustment to new diagnoses, and I bring that same thoughtful approach to therapy.
When working with clients, I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing. Whether you’re coping with health-related stress, life transitions, or seeking greater emotional balance, I’m here to walk with you at your pace.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I aim to make that step feel grounded, safe, and supportive.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, difficult life transitions, addictions, and relationship challenges. I believe therapy is a journey inward—one that honors the mind, heart, and spirit and can ultimately create greater peace, connection, and satisfaction in life.
My work is grounded in the belief that we each have inner strengths and wisdom that can become difficult to access when we are overwhelmed by loss, change, painful experiences, or long-standing patterns. Therapy can help us reconnect with those strengths, develop new ways of coping, and move toward a greater sense of clarity and self-compassion. I sometimes think of this as reconnecting with our Best Self—rediscovering the qualities within us that allow us to live more authentically .
I hold a Master of Arts in Spiritual and Counseling Psychology and have trained in grief and loss, community mental health, psychiatric settings, and addiction treatment as well as maintaining a private practice. I am committed to creating a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore what is difficult while also discovering their capacity for growth and change.
My approach is integrative and relational. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns; mindfulness and acceptance-based practices to cultivate present-moment awareness and self-compassion; and existential/spiritual perspectives to explore meaning , authenticity and purpose.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we make space for your experiences, your relationships, your losses, and the transitions you are facing—while honoring the wisdom you have gained along the way. Whether you are seeking relief from emotional pain, navigating a significant life change, or simply wanting to feel more connected to yourself and your life, therapy can offer an opportunity to reconnect with what is strong, meaningful, and alive within you.
