Janet Reynoso
I am a therapist who provides a strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach to care. I believe each person is the expert on their own life, and I work to meet clients where they are while supporting them in identifying their strengths, goals, and capacity for growth. My hope is to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and safe to show up as themselves—without fear of judgment.
First session
Starting therpay can be scary for many. The goal for the first session is to build rapport, complete an intake/psychosocial assessment, and establish treatment goals.
Strengths
One of the main strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to meet clients where they are. I understand that everyone enters therapy with different experiences, needs, cultural backgrounds, and levels of readiness for change. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, I tailor sessions around each client’s individual goals and pace. My trauma-informed perspective helps me approach clients with compassion, curiosity, and awareness of how past experiences may affect the present. I also take into account the cultural and social factors that can shape how someone views mental health, healing, family, identity, and asking for help. Above all, I strive not to dismiss or minimize what my clients are going through. I aim to normalize the need to be heard and provide a supportive environment where clients can share openly, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change.
Ideal clients
I encourage clients to show up as their authentic selves, be willing to explore difficult emotions, be an active participant in their treatment, and put in effort outside of sessions for the best outcomes. Come with openness and curiosity. Desire to understand oneself and examine patterns in behavior and relationships. Clients who are ready to improve quality of life and seek growth.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
've been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It's helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We'll use CBT to examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact. We'll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, helping you lead a more relaxed, less stressful life.
