LMFT, 13 years of experience
Hi and welcome! My name is Tyesha and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in the state of California. I have been practicing for approximately 13 years and continue to have a passion for the work I do. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression and self-esteem. Passionate about helping clients uncover the root of their challenges, I provide a compassionate and validating space for healing and growth. Through deep exploration and a touch of humor, I empower individuals to understand themselves better and develop lasting coping skills for a healthier, more fulfilling life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and discuss a little bit of history so that I can get to know you better. Then we'll dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Sessions with me are known for being both insightful and supportive, with clients leaving feeling validated and understood. I'm also known to incorporate humor into the therapeutic process, creating a warm and approachable environment.
My clients typically feel stuck in patterns of fear, self-doubt, or unresolved pain. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to dive deep into their experiences, but may feel challenged or overwhelmed to do so. It is important to me that I create a safe space to process the trauma and/or anxiety as I understand some things are not so easy to talk about.

My experience with Tyesha has been very positive and I really enjoy being able to decompress my feelings and emotions with her. She is always solution-focused and allows me the space for self-reflection and accountability in times where may be deflecting. Tyesha helps me to stay focused on my goals and is patient in my procrastination. I’m overwhelmed by a number of things that distract me from the goals I have for my marriage and family but she redirects my efforts to put things back on track.

Tyesha is patient and kind. Very welcoming. Very warm. I can tell she is a caring person. I was nervous for my first session and it went well. She made me feel comfortable sharing with her. I'am excited about the work we are about to begin.

Tyesha always asked me how I was feeling and was ready to provide tools to help me address my challenges. She quickly identified and clarified for these issues early on in our meetings. She helped me conquer a stressful situation and I would seek her counsel in the future.
CBT is very effective in changing thought patterns. With anxiety and trauma, often maladaptive ways of thinking are developed thus keeping people "stuck" in negative cycles. I use this in conjunction with other modalities in order to help my clients improve their thinking patterns. The majority of my clients find this very helpful.
My therapy sessions are largely Person-centered. I allow my clients to take the lead on what they need each session, providing them a safe space to process and discover themselves. I use a non-judgmental, positive approach while working to understand my clients experience.
Experiences shape personality, beliefs, and thought patterns. I am a firm believer that one must understand how their past impacts their present. I work closely with my clients to help them discover unconscious patterns while exploring their emotions. The purpose is get to the root of the issue to encourage healing.
Being eclectic allows me to individualize my treatment to fit my clients needs each session. I value that my clients are unique; therefore, I often combine different techniques from various modalities to fit the need of each client. Each session is uniquely yours.
