We are all the same! Part of the human experience is facing many challenges in our lifetime. By the same token, humans are wired to be resilient and can thrive in any circumstance. I believe that each of us possesses inner wisdom. Therefore, I can help you with life struggles by drawing from your strengths, internal resources, and a balance of evidence-based practices. In our sessions, I will provide education and tools to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, manage anger, stress, deal with relationship issues, and life transitions. My therapy approach is interactive, collaborative, and will meet you where you are in your journey while balancing the push to challenge you. "Nothing changes if nothing changes." Starting therapy can feel very scary and uneasy; hence, I offer a free consultation and put you in control to decide whether we will be a good fit. To schedule an appointment please contact Grow Therapy intake team at reception+Zerreniah14706@growtherapy.com or call +1 (786) 755-1863 and mention that you would like to book a free 15 minute consultation.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be gathering essential information that brought you to therapy, exploring goals and identifying strengths that can foster you to thrive in our sessions. Moving forward, we will process and develop insight to your challenges while I offer feedback, education and teach coping skills.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My methods are largely evidence-based and use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); the premise is that by reframing the way you think, you can change the way you feel. Similarly, changing your actions can change the way you feel. Under the CBT umbrella, I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills that focus on emotions and body sensations and apply coping tools for emotion regulation while building tolerance for discomfort. Moreover, I use Acceptance Commitment Therapy, an action-oriented psychotherapy stemming from CBT. The first step is to acknowledge your struggle, then commit to making changes in your behavior aligned with your values. The modalities mentioned are supported by mindfulness, which is the practice of observing our experience non-judgmentally in the present moment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Highlighting my strengths, I value education while meeting you with empathy and patience. I believe change requires an understanding of self and that the journey is a process. The first step to change is awareness, which involves learning how our thoughts and emotions function and how they impact our actions. Furthermore, our biology, chemistry, and environment influence our ways of being and relating to the world. In the process of developing insight, I will teach you tools to work through your challenges while learning to accept circumstances that are not in your control. Lastly, a strength that I regularly practice is self-compassion, a very important skill that I also teach. Recognizing that we are all flawed, being kind to ourselves, and allowing grace are vital to our growth.
