Emotions are the language of energy. In this language, there are critical messages to be understood. Emotions communicate what your needs are. Your mind translates this information so that needs can be met. Sometimes, it feels unsafe to acknowledge your emotions so the intellect, instead, pushes emotions down. With emotions silenced, you become deprived of connection to yourself, to others and needs go unmet. In this deprivation, you also lose authenticity. The call to acknowledgement returns, again and again, louder and louder. We can collaborate together to learn this language and to recover the gold of your authentic self. Its already there, where it has always been. Who you really are is full of potential, courageous, confident and quite worthy of connection. When you know this, there is an energy that arises as well. A motivation for action. Wherever you are at on this journey, is where I want to meet you. What a victory that you have already taken the brave step of searching for a therapist. Celebrate that. Perhaps the next movement is to reach out. We can explore next incremental steps from there.
Our first session is a gentle, collaborative intake designed to help us understand where you are on your life timeline and where you want to go. We will review your paperwork, discuss your current experiences with anxiety, depression, or trauma, and explore the transitions or disconnects you are currently navigating. This is a low-pressure space for us to see how your intellect, emotions, and values interact, ensuring we are a good clinical fit. By the end of our time together, we will begin shaping a flexible, integrative treatment plan tailored specifically to your individual wellness goals.
I am an integrative therapist specializing in individual lifespan development, working with clients from adolescence through elderhood. My practice focuses on helping individuals process trauma, anxiety, and depression by integrating their personal timelines, aligning their core values with tangible actions, and balancing emotion with intellect. I utilize a multi-modal approach drawing from EMDR, DBT, and Polyvagal theory. Because I specialize strictly in individual whole-person growth, I do not treat couples or family systems, making me an excellent referral partner for clinicians looking to hand off individual clients navigating complex life transitions.
I work best with individuals—from adolescence through elderhood—who are navigating a significant life transition or feeling a deep disconnect between their values, emotions, and daily actions. If you find yourself overthinking but struggling to connect with how you feel, my practice offers a space to harmonize your intellect with your emotional experiences. Together, we will honor and explore your unique life timeline to support your personal growth and holistic wellness. Please note that my practice focuses strictly on individual therapy; if your primary goals require couples counseling or structural family therapy, I am happy to connect you with trusted specialists in my network who focus on those systems.
I identify as
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on balancing emotional acceptance with active behavioral change. Therapists use it by teaching you concrete skills across four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. In practice, you fill out daily diary cards to track your urges, which your therapist reviews to help you break down and change impulsive habits during weekly sessions.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured therapy designed to help the brain process and heal from traumatic memories. During a session, you recall a distressing memory while your therapist guides your eyes through rhythmic, side-to-side movements or uses tapping sounds. This bilateral stimulation mimics the natural processing of REM sleep, which helps your brain re-file the painful memory so it no longer triggers intense emotional or physical distress in your daily life.
Polyvagal Therapy
Polyvagal therapy works by actively tracking and mapping your nervous system's biological reactions to stress, trauma, and safety. A therapist teaches you to recognize when your body shifts out of a calm, social state and into survival modes like fight-or-flight or immobilization (freeze). Through targeted somatic techniques—such as breath regulation, sound work, and posture adjustments—you learn to consciously signal safety to your brain and shift your body back into equilibrium.
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy provides a structured space to process intense loss, adapt to life changes, and manage overwhelming sorrow. A therapist helps you navigate emotional waves without trying to rush or "cure" your natural sadness. Through specialized frameworks like the Dual Process Model, you learn to balance processing the pain of loss while gradually rebuilding a meaningful daily life.
Eclectic
Eclectic therapy is a flexible approach where a therapist combines techniques from different psychological frameworks to fit your specific, individual needs. Rather than using just one method, they select the best tools for the moment—such as using EMDR for trauma, DBT for emotional regulation, and compassion-focused exercises for self-criticism. This tailored approach allows your therapy to adapt dynamically as your goals and symptoms change over time.
