Shira Rose-Levy
My practice helps adults handle distress by providing empathy and somatic, insight-oriented support. Being human can feel overwhelming: especially when you're carrying anxiety, trauma, challenges with substance use, or navigating a major life transition. Maybe you're feeling stuck, disconnected, or exhausted from holding everything together, even when you might look fine.
First session
In their first session, clients will have the opportunity to share what they are experiencing. We can work together to identify your goals for therapy and what you would like to get out of therapy.
Strengths
I offer a grounded, collaborative space; not just to talk about what's wrong, but to slow down enough to actually feel what's underneath it. Together, we look at the patterns shaped by your past, not to dwell there, but to loosen their grip on your present.
Ideal clients
My ideal client would be a young adult in college or graduating from college and are exploring their next steps. They might be struggling with trauma, substance abuse or an eating disorder and are motivated to address these struggles. Maybe this is their first time in therapy or maybe they have received therapy before and are ready to take a closer look at some of the underlying causes or patterns that have brought them to seeking therapy.
Treatment methods
EMDR
I have received multiple trainings in EMDR as well as through the EMDRIA Institute. I use EMDR to individuals address the trauma and distressing events that have negatively impacted their life.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use IFS to explore how our different "parts" may show up in your life. My practice helps adults handle distress by providing empathy and somatic, insight-oriented support.
