Life can feel overwhelming when past experiences continue to show up as anxiety, stress, or emotional exhaustion. You may notice patterns that don’t make sense, feel stuck in survival mode, or carry a heaviness you can’t quite name. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s beneath the surface, and begin responding to life with more clarity and self-compassion. You don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone—healing is possible, and support can make the path forward feel more steady and manageable. I also work in afternoons and evenings to ensure everyone gets a chance to be seen.

I grew up in East San José, California, in a vibrant immigrant community overflowing with playfulness, rhythm, and resilience. The love and sacrifice of my family enabled me to pursue my dreams, becoming the first woman in my immediate family to complete high school, college, and grad school. I use she/her pronouns and identify as a woman of color with Filipino and Mexican ancestry. I feel alive hiking with my loved ones, salsa dancing, and enjoying my favorite cuisine—Japanese Hot Pot. I am passionate about providing a radically strengths-based approach to youth, families, and adults in therapy. As someone who embodies both privileged and oppressed identities, I strive for constant self-reflection to continuously grow and reduce the harm I can cause as a service provider. I affirm people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious creeds, physical abilities, and beyond.

Welcome! I’m Dr. La Toshia Palmer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Beyond Greatness Global. I provide compassionate, culturally responsive therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, creating a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and practical coping-skills development. I also offer Faith-Based Counseling for clients who desire to integrate their Christian faith, spiritual values, prayer, and biblical principles into the therapeutic process. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, anger and emotional regulation challenges, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and other experiences that can affect emotional well-being and daily functioning. When working with children and adolescents, I strive to make therapy engaging, developmentally appropriate, and practical while strengthening emotional awareness, communication, coping, and problem-solving skills. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we explore your experiences, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, recognize your strengths, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change. At the heart of my practice is the belief that every person has the capacity for growth. My goal is to provide a safe, encouraging environment where you can gain insight, build resilience, strengthen confidence, and move toward greater emotional well-being and purpose.

Hi! My name is Crystal Villanueva and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have 14 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and children experiencing the challenges of anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, relationship challenges, and intimate partner violence. My approach to therapy is grounded in the spirit of Humanistic therapy. Humanistic Therapy is based on the core belief that people are good at heart and capable of making the right choices for themselves. In therapy, this belief leads me to focus on each individual’s unique point of view and how this view can impact their choices. It further emphasizes the importance of being our authentic selves to live the most fulfilling life. I strive to create a safe environment to help clients feel comfortable to express their thoughts/emotions. I am genuine, friendly, nonjudgmental, empathetic, and interactive. I believe I am easy to talk to as I am casual in my style, but direct and focused when it comes to our work together. My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own therapy that I received as a youth and young adult; it was life-changing. I worked with a therapist that was completely accepting and non-judgmental of my faults/shortcomings and helped me work past and accept them. Because of this experience, I wanted to give back and provide the same nonjudgment safe space, and acceptance to others.

My name is Shant Bardakjian and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Glendale, California. I currently work with adults within the greater Los Angeles area. Currently, I work with clients aged 18 to 64. I am a brainspotting Phase 1 trained therapist, who works with trauma, depression, and anxiety. My approach to therapy is tailored to the client’s needs. I enter into therapy with whatever you bring into the session. If you need a creative approach to solve your problems, then I would use an eclectic approach with a person centered lens that can be flexible for whatever need is brought into the room. My communication style is calm and approachable. I would like my clients to feel at ease in sharing whatever is on their heart without fear of judgment. I decided to become a therapist because I have wanted to help people discover their best selves. I have been drawn to helping people discover their innate ability to heal past whatever is keeping them stuck in life. My aim is for whoever works with me to be able to define a goal that can be accomplished and for trust to be gradually built within the therapeutic relationship. In this way, the progress that is seen in therapy will in turn translate to improvements in multiple areas of your life. In our first session together, you can expect the primary focus to be for me to hear your story of what brought you to therapy. The first session is to determine if there is an initial connection and also questions that would enable me to better understand what would work best for you as treatment progresses.

Are you feeling stuck, disconnected in your relationships, or noticing patterns that you don’t fully understand? You may be wanting to explore deeper—unpacking core beliefs or unresolved experiences that are impacting how you relate to others and to yourself. This process of gaining insight and gently challenging those patterns can be a meaningful step toward healing and growth. I have experience working with BIPOC individuals, women navigating anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, and individuals experiencing challenges with emotion regulation. I also support clients who are working toward feeling more like themselves again—reconnecting with a sense of balance, clarity, and emotional grounding. Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit is an important part of the process. If what you’re reading resonates with you, I would be honored to support you in this work. Our sessions—whether weekly or biweekly—are a dedicated space for you to slow down, reflect, and focus on your needs. My current availability is during daytime hours, between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and I am not offering evening appointments at this time. I look forward to walking alongside you in your healing journey.

Hi, I’m Adriana, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California with over 16 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I work with adults who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in familiar patterns, or simply tired of carrying everything on their own. Whether you’re navigating relationship difficulties, family dynamics, work or financial stress, grief, life changes, or experiences from the past that continue to affect you today, therapy can be a place to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making meaningful changes. I integrate evidence-based approaches with genuine conversation, helping you recognize patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, strengthen boundaries, regulate difficult emotions, and develop practical tools you can use outside of therapy. I welcome clients of diverse backgrounds and identities and provide therapy in both English and Spanish. My goal is to offer culturally responsive, individualized care that respects your experiences, values, and the life you want to create. Therapy doesn’t have to mean having everything figured out before you begin. We can start wherever you are and work together from there.

I am the author of Upward Spiral to Sobriety: Creating New Neural Habits through the Power of I AM Statements, a conceptual framework designed to help you break free and rewrite your story. (You can learn more about my book at www.betterlifewithshauna.com.) If you are feeling weighed down by a relentless inner critic, unhealthy coping mechanisms which lead to addictive choices, you are not alone. If you are ready to quiet the noise, redefine who you are on your own terms, and build a brand-new identity or blueprint, you are exactly where you need to be. My career has been built on helping people navigate deep-seated trauma. I spent years working extensively with foster youth, which gave me a profound understanding of childhood trauma. Today, alongside my private practice, I work on a frontline crisis line triaging severe emotional distress and suicidal ideation. This intense work has made me highly adept at sitting with people in their darkest, and heaviest moments. I excel at helping individuals interrupt overwhelming, negative thought loops and gently guiding them back to a place where they can remember they are safe, loved, worthy, and valued. I am also a proud military veteran and have worked as a therapist in an inpatient drug rehabilitation center for veterans—this role was instrumental and foundational to writing my book the Upward Spiral to Sobriety. In our sessions, we will work together to uncover the old narratives holding you back and consciously rewrite them into empowering beliefs and truth statements. I am a firm believer that "we are what we think." Using practical, evidence-based tools (CBT, DBT & Narrative therapy), we will reshape your thought patterns. Together, we will set reachable, realistic goals to help you find relief, clarity, and a much happier path forward.

Whole-Hearted Therapy Centered on Genuine Connection. Ever had therapy that feels like it drags on without any results? Research shows the Power of Connection drives roughly 60% of Therapeutic Success. My Compassionate Therapy Style focuses on Building Bridges of Trust and cultivating a meaningful connection with positive outcomes. So, how do you find the best therapist for you? That's a great question. And it's one that most people struggle with answering whether it's their first or umpteenth search. Is it the therapist him/herself, their personality, theoretical approach, or specialty? While all these factors are important, it shouldn't be your responsibility to find the best clinician; rather it's the clinician's responsibility to become the best therapist for you. I also have a particular interest in using holistic practices to help create great results for depression & anxiety disorders as well as trauma/PTSD and other mental/behavioral conditions. These include EFT Tapping, breathing/mindfulness/meditation, and Amino Acids, etc. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Addiction Counselor with nearly nine years of extensive professional experience in both mental health and addiction. Further, I have a personal background in overcoming addictions as well as several mental health and learning disabilities. Whether you're seeking help to overcome addiction, mental health conditions or career counseling, I've dedicated my professional life to becoming YOUR BEST clinician. Transform Your Mental Health Story: Break Free from disheartening therapy experiences with my Empathetic Approach. Ready for a change? Let’s connect for a video conference consultation. Kelli is a trauma informed yoga teacher, writer, Land protector, Kundalini and Vishoka meditation practitioner, and mother of 4. Trained by Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur in the Compassionate Inquiry process, Kelli's intention as a psychotherapist is to bring awareness to all facets of ourselves. When we witness these parts with compassion, we become whole, liberated, and restored to our True Nature. As we become more present and connected with ourselves, there is safety and space for authentic expression through our body, psyche, life, and community. Kelli specializes in Complex Trauma; "a psychic wound that hardens you psychologically and then interferes with your ability to grow and develop. It pains you and now you're acting out of pain. It induces fear and now you're acting out of fear. Trauma is not what happens to you, it's what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you." This is often revealed through symptoms of depression, anxiety, and addiction. Our emotions are not tangential to our health. They are a signaling intelligence that can alert us to all sorts of phenomenon in our experience.

Hi! I'm Dr. Chelsea Acker, a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise working with children and adolescents. I'm experienced with a range of concerns, but I have specialized training in treating trauma, suicidality, and early psychosis. In 2019, I graduated from the PAU-Stanford PsyD Consortium, where I trained at the Stanford School of Medicine's psychiatry department and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's program at a local high school. I attended internship (our version of residency, more or less) at the UC Davis Medical Center, where I received world-class training in the treatment of childhood trauma and early psychosis, both separately and together. I then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Chicago Child Trauma Center, where I continued to build my expertise in the treatment of childhood trauma. After that, I worked at Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, for two and a half years, where I specialized in working with children and adolescents with complex, persistent symptom presentations, who had often been hospitalized multiple times for safety concerns and struggled to make progress with previous therapists.

I am invested in helping you recognize thinking and (in)action patterns that hold you back or help you flourish. You may gain clarity about attitudes and beliefs informing everyday behaviors. Building motivation and tapping into innate resilience is a major part of the healing journey. The focus can be on lowering stress, increasing safety and security in relationships, and developing healthy self-esteem. This involves exploring current coping and refining skills for various situations and settings. Over time and with practice, you may become more flexible and responsive. You may feel more readiness for new and harder challenges. A gentle exploration of trauma, which is all too often a major source for present distress, is part of the work.

I’m Allan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy—especially for kids—doesn’t have to mean sitting on a couch talking about feelings for 50 minutes. Sometimes the best conversations happen over LEGOs, games, art, play, or while doing something that makes it easier to simply be yourself. Online, it could mean processing trauma, playing online therapeutic games with children (or adults if you want to). I especially enjoy working with children and teens, including kids who are anxious, overwhelmed, navigating trauma, struggling with big emotions or behaviors, or having a hard time putting what’s happening inside into words. I use play, creativity, humor, and evidence-based approaches to build connection and help kids develop skills without therapy feeling like another place where adults are telling them what to do. I also work with adults navigating trauma, mood concerns, relationships, identity, major life changes, and life’s more complicated chapters. My style is warm, humorous, direct, and genuinely human. I draw from DBT, EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, play-based interventions, Theraplay-informed practices, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care, adapting therapy to the person in front of me rather than expecting them to adapt to therapy. My professional experience includes inpatient psychiatry, juvenile justice, child welfare, family services, and community mental health, so I’m comfortable working with both everyday struggles and situations that feel especially complicated. Whether we meet in my Eureka office or online, my goal is to create a space where you—or your child—feel safe, understood, and comfortable showing up exactly as you are. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse affirming and neurodiversity-affirming. And yes, there are credentials behind the LEGOs.

I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, adjustment disorders, and understanding behavior patterns that are set from childhood. You deserve to feel better. If you've been feeling stressed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that are hard to change, you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out on your own. Hi, I'm Michelle, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Mindset Coach with over thirty years of experience. I help people feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their emotions. My goal is to create a space where therapy feels like a real, supportive conversation—one where you can better understand yourself and begin to move forward with clarity. Many of the people I work with are dealing with anxiety, stress, or emotional patterns that leave them feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. Together, we take a closer look at what's happening beneath the surface—not just within you, but within the context of your life, your relationships, and the situations you're navigating every day. We explore how your thoughts, emotions, and stress responses are connected, and we build tools to help you respond in healthier, more empowering ways. I believe there are two important relationships worth understanding: the relationships you have with other people, and the relationship you have with yourself. A question we'll often explore is, "What happens to you when...?" Whether it's conflict, criticism, disappointment, or uncertainty, understanding how you respond under different circumstances helps you recognize patterns and make choices that better reflect the person you want to be. My approach is collaborative, practical, and down-to-earth. Together, we'll focus on the parts of your life that are within your influence… strengthening communication, setting healthy boundaries, and making changes that help your relationships feel healthier while allowing you to feel more like yourself.

Hello, my name is Steven Nelson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over nine years of clinical experience. While my professional background includes family and relationship therapy, my current focus is working with individuals, helping each person navigate their unique journey toward healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and professions, including first responders, law enforcement personnel, active-duty military members and their families, nurses, attorneys, and many others facing a wide range of life challenges. Life's difficulties are a natural part of the human experience. At times, individuals may feel isolated in their struggles or believe that no one truly understands what they are going through. These thoughts can contribute to anxiety, depression, substance use, and other challenges that impact relationships, work, and overall quality of life. When left unaddressed, these difficulties can become overwhelming and interfere with one's ability to move forward. I believe that meaningful change is possible through a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based therapeutic approach. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can gain insight, build effective coping skills, strengthen resilience, and develop healthier ways of managing life's challenges. Together, we can work toward healing, personal wellness, and lasting positive change. In addition to my Psychological Therapy license, I hold specialties certifications in Drug and Alcohol addiction, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Sex Addiction, Trauma and Domestic Violence prevention.
