Starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even intimidating—and it’s worth taking a moment to recognize the courage it takes to take this first step toward caring for your mental health. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where you can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-care, and more. My goal is to help you strengthen communication and boundaries with yourself and others so that you can improve your quality of life and move toward the future you envision. Therapy is not just about overcoming obstacles—it’s also about personal growth. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and identify strategies to help you move toward them, whether that means change over the next month, six months, or a year. You’ll leave our sessions with practical insights and “next steps” you can put into action right away. I believe life’s purpose isn’t simply to be happy, but to find meaning—and within that meaning, joy emerges. While the journey isn’t always easy, it can be transformative. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Drug Counselor, and Behavior Analyst. I take a strength-based approach, helping you use your unique abilities to address challenges. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to empower you in creating lasting change. Most importantly, I bring a relaxed, compassionate, and trustworthy presence, fostering a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and supported.

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. ¡Bienvenidos! Starting therapy and meeting someone new can feel a little uncertain. For me, therapy starts with getting to know each other and building confianza, so you can feel comfortable being yourself and telling me what’s really going on. Sometimes we all need un ratito to slow down, breathe, and hear ourselves again. I’m a bilingual English and Spanish speaking therapist, the daughter of immigrants, and a first generation college graduate. My language, culture, family, and the way I was raised have shaped how I see the world and how I approach this work. They’ve also taught me to stay curious about the experiences, relationships, cultures, communities, and environments that have shaped you. I’m also a Certified Nature-Informed Therapist (C-NIT), and nature is an important part of how I approach our work. That doesn’t mean every session has to be about nature or that you need to be outdoors. We might use grounding, natural imagery, mindfulness, nervous system awareness, or find ways for you to connect with nature in your own surroundings between sessions. Sometimes it’s simply about slowing things down enough to notice what’s happening inside of you. You may be used to being the one who keeps going, figures things out, or takes care of everyone else. Maybe lately you don’t quite feel like yourself. Maybe you’re anxious, tired, going through a transition, questioning a relationship, or realizing there are things you’ve carried for a long time that you finally want to understand.

I've been a therapist for about eight years with a keen eye for helping others find deeper meaning through their hardships, a calming presence capable of modeling self-regulation, and a reliable ear for those that need to unload their perceived stress across different life chapters. I also offer a modern, diverse openness for cultural understanding as I am a male Latino fluent in Spanish, have Asian ethnicity, and am first-generation American. I can also empathize with perceived struggles as I grew up with low SES, was greatly affected by a custody battle into my teenage years, and became the primary healthcare agent for my father-figure until his passing from cancer during my early twenties. In more recent years, I learned the differences in transitioning from the role of a stepfather to becoming a father of a newborn. Understanding one's own pain from their story is key to learning the balancing act of validating and/or differentiating how to help others process their felt pain. I offer my therapeutic services as your existential teammate who will metaphorically walk by your side along your therapeutic journey.

You love your kids, but you’re exhausted from being needed all day. The noise, the mess, and the never-ending to-do list leave you feeling overstimulated. You snap, then lie awake feeling guilty. You may wonder, “Why is this so hard for me?” or miss the version of yourself who had more patience, energy, and time. I’m Yadira Reyes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a fellow mom with ADHD, and the therapist behind Serene Space Wellness, LCSW Corp. I help moms navigating pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, mom rage, burnout, and ADHD. With over 16 years of clinical experience, I bring warmth, understanding, and practical support to the parts of motherhood that can feel hard to say out loud. Working with me means having space to slow down, sort through conflicting feelings, and talk honestly without worrying about being judged. We will explore what is underneath your feelings of overwhelm, whether that’s anxiety, overstimulation, pressure to do everything, or putting your needs last. Then, we’ll build tools and routines that fit your life. I’ll help you recognize your triggers, calm your body, communicate what you need, and set boundaries that make room for you. If ADHD makes everyday tasks feel harder, we’ll create strategies that work with your brain and feel manageable. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. I’m a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a warm, direct, practical, and collaborative style. I try to create a space that feels human rather than overly clinical, where clients can be honest, use humor when appropriate, and feel understood without being judged. My work is structured and goal-oriented, but I adapt therapy to the individual rather than expecting every client to fit one approach. I often help clients recognize patterns, understand where they come from, challenge beliefs that are no longer helping them, and translate insight into realistic changes in relationships, work, emotional regulation, and everyday life. My approach integrates CBT, DBT-informed skills, attachment and family-of-origin work, trauma-informed care, strengths-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and practical life-skills interventions. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, substance-use and recovery concerns, relationship difficulties, identity and LGBTQ+ issues, life transitions, emotional regulation, and self-esteem. My background includes telehealth, private practice, outpatient and residential behavioral health settings, working with diverse adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and particularly value helping clients build self-awareness, confidence, healthier boundaries, stronger communication, and a life that feels more aligned with who they actually are.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, life transitions, and patterns that can leave them feeling stuck or disconnected. My style is warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and collaborative. I listen deeply without judgment while also offering honest reflection, insight, and practical tools to help you create meaningful change. Many people come to therapy believing something is wrong with them. I approach things differently. I believe our emotional struggles, coping strategies, and relationship patterns often make much more sense when we understand the experiences that shaped them. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, I help clients become curious about what is happening beneath the surface, why certain patterns developed, how they may have helped you cope or protect yourself, and whether they are still serving you today. Therapy with me is a place where you can show up as you are. You don’t need to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or pretend that everything is okay. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-understanding, reconnecting with your strengths, developing healthier ways of coping and relating, and creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your life.

As a Latino male LCSW therapist, I bring a rich background of experience and education to my practice. Having studied at Columbia University, I have honed my skills to provide comprehensive support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. My professional journey has led me to work extensively with children and families within the child welfare system, justice-involved individuals, and those grappling with substance abuse, codependency, intimacy issues, LGBTQIA+ identities, and life transitions. Utilizing a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness techniques, and trauma-focused approaches, I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. My practice is deeply rooted in a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and I strive to create a safe and affirming space for all clients. With a strong emphasis on social justice and advocacy, I am dedicated to addressing systemic barriers and promoting positive change within both the therapeutic setting and the broader community. My goal is to empower clients to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, self-awareness, and compassion, fostering growth and transformation along the way.

Hello, I’m Jennifer Mendoza, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in child, adolescent, and family mental health based in Northern California. Over the past 13 years, I have provided psychotherapy and clinical supervision across a wide range of community and clinical settings. My work has focused on comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children, teens, and families, as well as supporting young professionals and adults navigating life transitions. Much of my professional experience has been rooted in community-based mental health, where I have served as both a therapist and clinical supervisor in child and youth-focused programs. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally responsive, integrating person-centered practices that honor each client’s unique strengths and experiences. In addition to my community work, I have also provided therapy in group private practice settings and most recently served as a mental health therapist at LPCH Stanford Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Mood Disorders Clinic, where I supported youth and families coping with complex mood and anxiety disorders.

Hi, I’m Norma Elia Luna, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the therapist behind Sol de Luna Therapy. I provide warm, collaborative, trauma-informed therapy that integrates attachment-focused and somatic perspectives. I believe the patterns we struggle with often make more sense when we understand what they have been trying to protect us from. In our work, we may explore how past experiences, relationships, emotions, and nervous system responses continue to shape the way you experience yourself and the people around you today. My goal is not simply to help you manage symptoms, but to help you understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your own needs and strengths, and develop new ways of responding that feel more aligned with the life and relationships you want.

You might feel stuck in patterns like overthinking, anxiety, or relationship stress that are hard to turn off. Even when things look fine on the outside, it can feel exhausting trying to manage everything internally. I work with adults who want to understand these patterns and respond differently, not just cope. Our work focuses on making sense of what is happening beneath the surface while also finding practical ways to feel more clear, grounded, and in control in daily life. I integrate trauma informed care and parts work to help you build self-trust, set boundaries, and move through challenges with more clarity and confidence.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
