I grew up in a small town in Hawaii, then came to Southern California and began studying psychology in 2001. I completed my master’s degree at Fuller School of Psychology in 2010 and served children and families at a community mental health agency for 10 years, also starting a private practice 8 years ago. While I loved island life, I’ve put down roots here through friendships, involvement in my community, and my love of LA’s cultural diversity.
I have 20 years of experience working at a hospice serving patients and their families, specializing in grief and loss. I also have experience treating people with mental illness and substance abuse. I have worked in residential programs and also doing case management for people with mental illness and substance abuse in San Francisco, CA I have run virtual community grief groups that are accessible and affordable. I enjoy working with people of all ages and steer my work from a place of compassion and with a genuine interest in your situation, striving for you to feel more in control of your path in life with growth towards greater happiness.

Hello! My name is Natasha and I have had the pleasure of helping people with life transitions for 30 years. I am passionate about helping people through the trials and tribulations of life and helping them find the strengths that are often already within. I use a systems based approach, considering all factors that may be impacting a person in crisis - whether that be individual, family, peers, community, work, school, gender, substance use, culture, or social media influences - to help them find a more fulfilling way to live.
My therapy style is eclectic borrowing from many different schools of thought as best fits my clients' needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques for a shorter, solution-focused treatment such as for anxiety or depression. I use a more psychodynamic approach for lengthier and more complex issues such as trauma. I am client-centered and very relational in my interactions.
Some of my guiding principles include Unconditional Positive Regard, harm reduction, kindness and compassion above all. And of course, always a healthy dose of humor which can be found in even the darkest of times.
I look forward to joining you on your journey to a healthier and happier self.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a PhD and almost 20 years of clinical experience working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, burnout, and addictive patterns. My approach is integrative, relational, and strengths-based, but what distinguishes my work is the combination of deep exploration with practical change. I help clients understand not only what they are feeling, but why certain patterns keep repeating across relationships, work, family, and major life decisions, and what can be done differently.
I work especially well with adults who may already have insight into their struggles but still feel caught in overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional disconnection, or difficult relationship patterns. Therapy with me is collaborative and active: we may explore family-of-origin dynamics, attachment, identity, trauma, and longstanding beliefs while also building concrete tools for emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, and decision-making. The goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you develop greater self-trust, flexibility, and the ability to live and relate in ways that feel more authentic and intentional.
I will help you get to know yourself again, and take back control of your life. Someone who suffers from anxiety, depression, or trauma can feel trapped, and feel they can't see there way out. They struggle with all types of symptoms such as constant worries, overthinking, sadness, loss of pleasure, isolating, forgetfulness, flashbacks, etc., and tend to find themselves only getting worse.
My ideal clients are those that are seeking results in making positive changes with their mental health and being willing to put in the work to do so by learning skills such as relaxation, mindfulness, and even setting a routine to help one have more structure in their life. Our mental health does not have to feel as though it is debilitating.

Hello, I'm Dr. Scheherazade Pheng, a licensed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience helping adults across California. My work has been at the intersection of mental health, the criminal justice system, and the families whose lives are deeply affected by it.
One of the things that matters most to me is making quality mental health care accessible. I welcome clients with a variety of insurance plans because I believe the support you receive should never depend on the insurance card you carry.
Throughout my career, I have learned two important truths. When one person enters the criminal justice system, an entire family is impacted. Parents, spouses, grandparents, and children often carry overwhelming stress, grief, fear, and uncertainty while trying to keep moving forward. I have also seen that many communities near California's prisons and detention facilities have limited access to mental health care, despite having a tremendous need for support.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, shame, or the emotional challenges of loving someone who is incarcerated, you will find a compassionate and judgment-free space in my practice. Together, we'll work toward healing, greater clarity, and renewed hope. You deserve support just as much as the people you care about, and I'm here to help when you're ready. Dr. Pheng is also the author of The Other Side of the Wall: A Healing Guide for Families of Incarcerated Loved Ones, available at thriveinstitutefbh.com.

Few, if any, of us grow up in an environment that perfectly fits our needs. As we grow, we adapt to our surroundings in ways that may run counter to our vitality, health, and happiness. By exploring and understanding the underlying emotional and psychological patterns that shape our lives, we are able to develop choice in whether to engage in patterns and habits that no longer serve us. As a psychotherapist, I provide a curious, and compassionate presence, lending my heart and mind to this process of self-exploration and self-understanding.

I am the co-owner and co-founder of Lydian Counseling & Consultation, LLC in the heart of the Short North Arts District in downtown Columbus, OH. Individuality is at the heart of how I work. I don’t believe there’s one right way to change your life, and I’m not here to hand you a roadmap and tell you to follow it. You’re the expert on your own life. My job is to ask the right questions, help you sort through what you actually want, and support you in building something that’s sustainable for you, not what worked for someone else, not what looks good on paper.
And I mean that genuinely. You are not your diagnosis, your history, or anyone else’s idea of what change should look like. The things that make you who you are, your background, your values, your circumstances, the way you see the world, those aren’t obstacles to work around. They’re the starting point. Good therapy, in my opinion, should fit your life, not ask you to fit into it.
Change is hard enough without feeling like you’re being managed. Here, you’re in the driver’s seat.
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in central Ohio, specializing in mental health and addiction treatment. I also hold an active LPCC license in the state of CA. I hold a Bachelor’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton. I also completed an Addiction Medicine fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in Daly City, CA, an experience that gave me a deep respect for just how individual the path to recovery really is.
