New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with six years of experience supporting individuals and families through a variety of challenges. My background includes working with foster children and families, older adults living with chronic health issues, people experiencing mental health crises or substance use disorder, and caregivers supporting loved ones who are sick or elderly. In my work, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. I find it helpful to think of our mental health as a garden—complex, living, and full of potential. Sometimes, unhealthy “fruit” in life points to deeper roots beneath the surface. Together, and always at your pace, we explore those roots to uncover negative beliefs or patterns that may be holding you back. As we gently uproot those negative beliefs, we cultivate truth, hope, and healthier ways of thinking—so that good fruit can grow. I also hold a Master of Theological Studies from Boston University School of Theology. For clients who wish to integrate their Christian faith into therapy, I offer a space for spiritual exploration and emotional healing. My theological background allows me to walk with clients who are processing “church hurt,” wrestling with questions about God, or navigating the intersection of faith and mental health.
Our first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll take time to talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. I’ll explain how the therapeutic process works, including confidentiality, and answer any questions you might have. Throughout our conversation, I’ll be asking a lot of questions! I want to better understand your story, your experiences, and your goals. Together, we’ll begin to clarify what you’d like to focus on in therapy and discuss next steps for moving forward. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling seen and hopeful about the work we’ll do together.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am an advocate at heart and find deep fulfillment in championing individuals using evidence-based therapeutic interventions. My social work background allows me to view the whole person within their environment—helping clients recognize both the internal patterns and external barriers that may be influencing their well-being. I also believe education is a powerful tool for change, and I enjoy equipping clients with insight and practical knowledge to help them better understand themselves and their particular struggle. In addition, as a trained theologian, I can thoughtfully integrate faith into the therapeutic process for those who desire it. I also understand the complex experiences that can come with faith, including church hurt or painful misconceptions about God, and I am honored to walk with clients as they seek clarity and healing.
I’m best suited to work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, and life transitions. I am especially equipped to work with individuals who wish to integrate their Christian faith into their mental health journey.
We will use CBT to identify negative mindsets and corresponding behaviors that are causing you problems and pain points. We will then work together to identify better ways of thinking to address these problems.
With this therapeutic practice, the focus is on your identified goals and the steps necessary to actualize them. We will look together at what outcomes you are hoping for and how to actionably get there.
Along with my LCSW experience, I am also seminarian graduate who is a lifelong student of theology. If desired, we will look to the resources of your faith to integrate alongside the therapeutic practice in our session.
