LCSW, 12 years of experience
Hey there, I’m Adelaide! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working with adults and adolescents for 11 wonderful years in outpatient, inpatient, and correctional facilities. I’m a firm believer that every person can benefit from therapy, regardless of whether they struggle with day-to-day stress or chronic mental illness. I have worked extensively with patients who struggle with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Schizophrenia, personality disorders, abuse issues, criminal offenses, grief and loss, and relationship issues. My personal style is open and collaborative in understanding how to work through things in the most effective and healthy way for your life. It takes courage to reach out and I am excited to be a part of your journey!
In our first session together, I will take time to get to know you and your specific needs as well as any major issues you may be facing at the time. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, address any major concerns you might have, and make goals for future sessions.
I incorporate active listening, compassion, and openness into each one of my sessions.
I love working with people who are motivated to change and are searching for tools to improve their current circumstances.
I like to make connections between our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions as it allows my clients to see potential patterns that we can work on.
I utilize many of the skills and emotion regulation techniques from DBT. I also encourage mindfulness practices as they are taught from a DBT perspective as they are incredibly effective versus traditional mindfulness practice.
I assist my clients in making attainable goals and making room for solutions to everyday issues as they are important parts of producing sustainable change.
Our strengths are what keep us going in day-to-day living and I use those strengths frequently to form new coping strategies.
