By actively listening, providing tailored support, and encouraging self-determination, I can help older adults maintain their autonomy and confidence. Resilience is nurtured through meaningful connections, purposeful activities, and a focus on strengths rather than limitations. Hi, I’m La’Kisha “Kisha” Jordan and I believe therapy is a healing space rooted in truth, transformation, and cultural connection. I work with teens, individuals, women, and families who are tired of just surviving and ready to start healing—for real. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, or just feeling lost in the noise of life, I hold space that is safe, soulful, and judgment-free. My approach is eclectic and intuitive—I don’t just use one method because you’re not one-size-fits-all. I blend evidence-based techniques like CBT and DBT with creativity, storytelling, spirituality, and real talk. One session might include grounding and deep breathing; another might involve journaling, laughter, or hard truths said with love. I meet you where you are, and walk with you toward where you want to be. I’m not just a therapist behind a desk—I’m a woman who’s lived, lost, loved, and learned. I see you. I hear you. And I believe in your ability to grow through what you go through.

I am an African American woman with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field and more than 6 years providing outpatient therapy in the state of Virginia. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2018. My professional journey has been deeply rooted in serving individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, with a strong commitment to culturally responsive, ethical, and compassionate care. My work centers on supporting individuals who struggle with identity, self-worth, and negative or distorted beliefs about themselves. Many of the clients I serve feel disconnected from who they are, shaped by past trauma, life transitions, systemic barriers, or repeated experiences of disappointment and loss. I help clients explore these experiences, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop a healthier, more authentic sense of self. Through a strength-based, client-centered, and evidence-informed approach, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their inner resilience, increase self-awareness, and build emotional insight. Therapy is a space where clients are encouraged to show up fully—without judgment—while learning practical tools to manage emotions, improve relationships, and make empowered decisions aligned with their values and goals. As a clinician, I believe healing is not only about symptom reduction, but also about reclaiming identity, restoring confidence, and learning how to live with intention and purpose. My goal is to create a safe, affirming environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they move toward growth, clarity, and long-term emotional wellness.

Hi all, my name of Faye Miles and I am a Breast cancer survivor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and have been licensed since 2010. Do you find little happiness in your life? Do you find yourself anxious, depressed, unfilled in relationships, constantly comparing yourself to others? Or do you find little time for yourself always giving your all to your work or others? Have you been hurt by others and are looking for healing or experienced loss that has left you depleted? What if I told you, there are ways to live and feel happy and fulfilled. There are ways to heal. Self-love is important because it motivates much of our positive behavior while reducing harmful behavior. It both empowers us to take risks and to say no to things that don't work for us. It's a key component of building self-compassion. Self-love helps us take care of ourselves, lower stress, and strive for success and I strive to help adolescents, young adults and adults find fulfillment and happiness through exploration and exercises into their identity. This also can promote healing. I am passionate about this work and working with others and if you feel I am the right fit we will work together in this journey to help you explore, find resources and hopefully find self-love, and compassion.

I know at times life can seem confusing or even impossible. I believe with every fiber of my being we all have the answers we need. Somehow we get separated from our core strength. You are the expert on you, you alone hold your truth. I am interested in your story and use the description, "enlightened witness" as a way to describe some of what I do in my work as a therapist and healer. I see myself as a fellow traveler, a helper, and a companion who "holds the lantern" to help guide people to move out of dark places and into their truth. Much of the time we are living a narrative others have crafted, often driven by fear or pain rather than strength. These narratives can feel like prisons but we can heal and take back our story, and choose to see from our core. Embrace compassion, reflection and most of all self-love. Some of my greatest joy comes from helping people move past pain into healthy and loving relationships with themselves and others. I believe suffering is inevitable but not without wisdom and growth. Sometimes seeing our strengths is difficult. Self-love must include your whole being and all parts ~ messy, vulnerable, raw and authentic. You are the velveteen rabbit and you are already worthy of your own love. You are already real. I am licensed in Virginia, West Virginia and Texas. I see clients in these states only at this point. FYI Please schedule on the hour only. Otherwise, I will have to call you back and reschedule. I usually offer mostly daytime hours so having the time to meet during the day is important.

Hi! I'm Christy, and I'm a Therapist, Hypnotherapist, and an Energy Healer. I fell in love with the idea of being a therapist in middle school and never wavered from that path. Through schooling and diverse professional experience, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor, a career I've taken seriously and loved for 25 years and counting. I've continued to learn and grow my healing toolkit with hypnotherapy, transpersonal psychology, spirituality, energy healing, somatic expression, and healing of my own personal traumas and experiences so that I can continue to offer more and more opportunities for growth for my clients. I take pride in my ability to relate to clients, listen with a non-judgmental ear, and provide the support and guidance needed for clients to improve their lives. In addition to traditional methods of counseling, I incorporate hypnotherapy, life coaching, empowerment techniques, relaxation and meditation, energy healing, transpersonal and spiritual therapy, and other modern and mystical techniques that challenge clients to grow in their lives. My passion is healing, growing, learning, shining my light, and supporting others to heal, grow, learn, and shine their light as well. My philosophical life view is based upon a positive psychological perspective which means I truly believe that one voice can change your day, week, month, future and the world! I have dedicated myself to helping teens, young adults and women become a better version of themselves no matter what life throws at them. I enjoy challenging my clients to think differently and then watching the benefits that occur when they find success. I want to continue to teach courage and confidence by touching and diving into subjects such as overcoming self-doubt, identifying scarcity thinking and toxic surroundings, and unbalanced relationships. By having my clients identify on their own, their own overthinking, unhealthy relationships and perfectionism, together we can create new patterns of thinking that can lead to increased self-efficacy, courage and confidence.

Hi, I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual, marriage, and family therapy. Since 2016, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, and families on their journeys toward healing. My path began as a behavior technician, giving me practical insight into emotional and behavioral challenges. As a therapist, I help people navigate trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, emotional dysregulation, and burnout. My approach blends psychodynamic therapy, psychoeducation, and body-mind (somatic) techniques so we can explore emotional patterns, increase self-awareness, and heal the effects of stress and trauma held in the body. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in cycles, or struggling to connect with yourself or others, I offer a collaborative, trauma-informed space for deep healing and growth. I support clients with a wide range of concerns, including: Grief and loss, mood instability, and psychotic spectrum disorders Major life transitions like career changes, divorce, relocation, and new parenthood LGBTQ+ support, spiritual exploration, and existential questions Relationship and family dynamics, including co-parenting, communication, and attachment wounds Chronic pain, body image, and somatic trauma symptoms Workplace stress, burnout, perfectionism, and executive functioning challenges

I focus on trauma, grief, overwhelming life events, relationship issues, recognizing patterns and coping mechanism using Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting. We may be a good fit if you are ready for deeper insight, seek a fresh approach beyond just talk therapy. I believe the important step in therapy is to create a sound relationship between client and therapist, then, using modalities like Internal Family System (IFS), Brainspotting and Polyvagal theory to help alleviate symptoms from unresolved issues that remain present in our daily lives, and behaviors and thoughts that decrease our quality of life. I work with adults of all ages. I use trauma informed care with body and nervous system awareness. Learning and creating compassionate connections to your inner system and learning to release emotions through the body may lead to relief and healing. Like the movie, Inside Out or Inside Out 2, parts are like characters that have their own roles, emotions, beliefs and interactions with others. With time, parts work feels more comfortable and familiar and you can settle into your own system and internal experience. You will learn to notice your nervous system responses to different situations. “IFS is a loving way of relating internally (to your parts) and externally (to the people in your life), so in that sense, IFS is a life practice, as well. It’s something you can do on a daily, moment-to-moment basis—at any time, by yourself or with others.” ― Richard C. Schwartz, No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with the IFS Model

Yes! If you use Independence Administrators you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Independence Administrators you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
