Hi all, my name of Faye Miles and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and have been licensed since 2010. Do you find little happiness in your life? Do you find yourself anxious, depressed, unfilled in relationships, constantly comparing yourself to others? Or do you find little time for yourself always giving your all to your work or others? Have you been hurt by others and are looking for healing or experienced loss that has left you depleted? What if I told you, there are ways to live and feel happy and fulfilled. There are ways to heal. Self-love is important because it motivates much of our positive behavior while reducing harmful behavior. It both empowers us to take risks and to say no to things that don't work for us. It's a key component of building self-compassion. Self-love helps us take care of ourselves, lower stress, and strive for success and I strive to help adolescents, young adults and adults find fulfillment and happiness through exploration and exercises into their identity. This also can promote healing. I am passionate about this work and working with others and if you feel I am the right fit we will work together in this journey to help you explore, find resources and hopefully find self-love, and compassion.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In this first session together, we will set expectations for therapy and answer any questions you have. We will dive into what your concerns are and anything you want to discuss as reasons for coming to therapy. This will help me create an individual specific plan that we can update as we move through the therapy process.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, and strengths based approach to my work to help others have power over their lives and make choices to build upon the greatness from within. We will collaborate and work together to find new methods that work for you while also being in a safe space without judgement.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a wide variety of experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults from many backgrounds including those who have experienced domestic violence, anxiety, depression, bullying, relationship difficulties, identity formation issues, everyday stressors and grief/loss. In sessions you can expect that I’ll meet you with compassion, nonjudgement, and meet you at your pace while helping you identify your strengths to build upon while empowering you to make the best choices for you. After all you are the expert on you!
