I'm Nicole! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama and Virginia. As a young mom with a blended family, I understand the pressures of parenthood, co-parenting, relationships, and day-to-day stress. I am an ADHD Certified Clinical Services provider, specializing in women's issues and adult ADHD. I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology, my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and my post-graduate certification in Advanced Counseling from Freed-Hardeman University. I have always been passionate about helping others, so therapy was a natural fit for me. I decided to specialize in ADHD after realizing that I had been undiagnosed until adulthood and struggled through my childhood and teen years, not realizing that ADHD was the culprit of that distress. I find joy in helping other people find freedom in embracing themselves and finding ways to overcoming or cope with the challenges ADHD presents on a daily basis.
During our first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other. I will be asking a lot of questions about you and your experiences to get a sense of what brings you to counseling. You can expect a laid back and welcoming environment that feels like a casual conversation between friends.
I provide a relational style of counseling and believe in the importance of building rapport with my clients in order to provide a safe, accepting, and judgment-free experience. I utilize solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness approaches to therapy. I provided a safe space for clients to comfortably be and express themselves. I value clear communication and practice active listening so that clients feel heard and understood.
I enjoy providing therapeutic care to individuals who want to improve their ability to function executively, juggle responsibilities, manage stress, engage in meaningful relationships, and navigate parenthood.
