Hi, my name is Kimberly Hutchinson. My goal is to empower you. All of us feel down or overwhelmed at times in our lives, or maybe it even feels like more than that. I'm here to help. With a busy life, additional emotional support, a sense of direction, or help understanding current circumstances may make navigating life's challenges a little easier. By working together to clarify the difficulties or challenges, and then working through them, you can achieve therapeutic goals that enable you to obtain greater self-understanding and grow into a life with less anxiety and a better ability to withstand the stresses of the everyday world. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and I have more than 25 years of experience in the field of mental health. My approach to therapy is collaborative, which means we work together. I use evidence-based cognitive-behavioral and supportive approaches. Sometimes we may talk about the past, but the focus is on the present and helping you move forward. My expertise includes anxiety, depression, domestic violence, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, adjustment, and stress management. I have specializations in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology (e.g., stroke, health problems), so I also work with individuals who have issues such as ADHD, Asperger's syndrome/autism, the effects of stroke or adjusting to a medical disorder. You can expect a collaborative, practical approach to therapy with achievable goals. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Texas with 29 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be. As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

It is fair to say there are a lot of stressors in our society, some so large they can have a huge impact on how we enjoy and navigate our lives. I'm here to tell you it isn't all in your head, you're not alone, and it is ok to ask for help. I am a licensed clinical social worker offering virtual therapy to individuals in Louisiana and Texas. I utilize a client-centered approach, meaning you are the expert in your own life and I am here only to assist you in reaching your goals. Trauma-informed care is a very important part of the services I provide, as I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, with expertise in abuse and assault. I believe it is necessary to acknowledge traumatic experiences throughout our lives and how those experiences may shape our worldview. Trauma is incorporated into the majority of the work I do with clients, it looks different for us all but it exists in some capacity. I am lucky to have had opportunities in my career that have allowed me to expand my practice to include working with individuals experiencing chronic illnesses. I provide a space where folks with chronic illnesses can share openly about the confines of their illnesses and receive validation around those feelings, sometimes for the first time. Most of the time clients are having a very normal reaction to an abnormal situation, no one prepares us for the possibility of chronic illness and little support is available for those who experience it. Lastly, as a queer woman, it is important to me that I provide quality care for LGBTQ teens and adults. Too often, we cannot find providers who hold identities similar to our own. The last few years have allowed me to work with LGBTQ teens in my area and I have learned a great deal from them. I hope to continue this work for some time while growing my practice and providing quality care to anyone who is interested in working with me.

As a Social Worker for nearly 30 years, I have experienced people from all walks of life who need someone to confide in, someone to talk with, & encouragement. I received my clinical license in 2019. Since that time, I have used my knowledge and skills to support individuals, from ages 5 to 65 years old with issues related to life stressors. My specialization is in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with people who have experienced trauma. Trauma often results in anxiety and depression. I currently provide therapy in a private practice setting, both for in-person and teletherapy clients. I work with individuals and families experiencing many types of minor and major stresses. As I am also a mother of 3 grown men, 2 of whom have young children of their own. I live in the Arlington, Texas area and enjoy being a full-time faculty member at a local university in the School of Social Work, where I have been for 19 years.

Hello and thank you for taking a chance on therapy, reaching out is one of the hardest parts and you are taking the first step. Finding a fitting therapist is a big part of your success in therapy, so if it does not initially work out, remember you can find a suitable option. Our initial meeting will be a 15-minute consultation to ensure we are compatible for each other to maximize your therapeutic experience. I am a Texas State University graduate. I have experience in multiple settings including schools, hospitals, inpatient treatment facilities, and group practices. This has allowed me to work with diverse humans and engage many different therapeutic styles. I have a passion for creating space for my community of color, ADHD, parents, and LGBTQIA. I support adolescents, adults, and parent clients. Outside of the office, I spend a lot of time in nature as this is a healing place for me that I like to encourage others to consider as a therapeutic tool. My immediate family consists of my wife, 2 kiddos, and lots of pets. We spend time together hiking/exploring nature, joining city-wide events, finding new parks to play and walk the dogs, and cooking new recipes. Reach out if you find yourself aligning with my style, I look forward to supporting and growing with you!

Why should you choose ME, over anyone else? That is the burning question. As I sit here and try to think of all the ways to possibly distinguish myself in comparison to my peers and colleagues, one specific thing comes to mind: the exact moment that I knew I wanted to be a therapist. My life’s trials and tribulations have put me in a strangely unique position in regard to understanding and empathizing with much of what is thrown at many of us, and it is because of that, that I found strength in my weaknesses and lowest moments. Readjusting to life after deployments, after the military, after divorce and growing pains and heartache, was a monumentally transitional period of my life, and my therapist bared the brunt of my pain with compassion and grace. In my very last session, I looked him in the eyes and said: “I want to do what you’re doing. I want to help people the way that you’ve helped me. I’ve been on this side of the table – now I want to be on that side.” So, what’re my credentials, expertise, focus and treatment approaches? Credentials: MSW, LICSW (WA), LCSW (HI, TN, TX) Expertise: My background and personal experience of the military and with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) ensure that I have a good handling on trauma and know all too well the burdens of Veterans that come with serving your country during war, as well as in the aftermath. Beyond that, I specialize and have experience with anger management, mood disorders, thought disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, social anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, self-esteem issues. Approaches: I clinically find myself utilizing a psychodynamic approach to therapy with my clients. I believe we are who we are today based on the many influences we had in our lives, especially in those formidable early childhood years. Oftentimes, we can find the source of your current concerns today by processing how you originally developed your core values and beliefs. These roots run deeper than we typically ever realize without therapy. If you choose to work with me, we will naturally dive deeper into what this may mean for you. The path of healing is not an easy road, nor a short one. Doing the work takes gusto, but I believe that you have it inside of you, and I believe that I am the one for the job to aid in your process and growth. I hope to hear from you soon!!! Respectfully, Sean

Hello Friend! Everyone, at one point or another may feel weighed down. We may even describe the feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration' with a host of unbearable stressors. Some may describe it as anxiety, fatigue, or sadness. Many would not know what is wrong or feel as if no one is willing to listen. Did you know anxious energy is normal? Some may call it feeling stressed, others as productive energy. In truth, anxiousness is innate in all of us to escape danger. What is not healthy is when stressors cross the threshold of what feels comfortable and interrupt our everyday habits, responsibilities, and we feel depleted. We all have our unique threshold for stress. But how do we 'fix things' when all we want is to be alone? Many will say: 'When life throws us lemons, make lemonade'. But how? It’s as simple as finding a helper - I'm a helper. I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find YOUR definition of empowerment. My journey began as a young child whose home life was a host of struggles/abuse which later served as an insight into the struggle others experience. Such experiences can hamper anyone's ability to move forward. In my case, I was fortunate to meet a well-regarded psychotherapist who aided me in learning life-long cognitive tools. My work as a psychotherapist began in a clinical setting. I garnered a vast amount of knowledge specializing in various modalities of treatment, including the conventional mode known as the bio-psychopharmacological in dealing with comorbidity. Proper psychotherapists should emphasize there is no such thing as "the magic pill" and most treatments do not require referrals for medications to heal. I hold a high standard for clients' rights as a mental health advocate and a high standard for myself which in turn helps my clients find their innate tools. I help those dealing with depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship issues, PTSD (trauma), adjustment disorder, chronic health issues and behavioral issues including ADHD. I serve all slices of society: seniors, couples, survivors of abuse, LGBTQIA2S+, gender dysphoria; and those with comorbid conditions such as drug addiction. Together, we will identify what's not working for you. We will identify solutions you innately use and simple goals that do NOT require you to change your entire life. Change should NOT be an ordeal, but an inspiration. You will become partial to the positive mindset with an empowered sense of well-being.

Have you ever wondered, “What is wrong with me?” If your mirror can talk back to you, what would it say? What good things or bad things will it tell you and how would you respond? I will be the mirror that will help you learn more about yourself and will give you an honest reflection so that you can make the best decisions for yourself. I tailor my counseling approach based on your specific needs and goals. I combine a person-centered counseling approach with brief solution-focused therapy to give you the best outcome, respecting your time and money. I have a master’s in counseling with a dual emphasis on both School Counseling and Agency Counseling. I have over 16 years of counseling experience with all age groups, diverse populations, and subject matter. With my many years of experience working in schools, hospitals, and the community, there is very little I haven’t seen. You don’t have to do life alone. Bring me your challenges, your struggles, and your troubles, and let’s work together to resolve them. I also provide Christian counseling: God never promised us a life free from struggles, pain, or sorrows (John 16.33); however, He did promise that He will never leave us (Matthew 28.20). Life is not meant to be lived alone: It’s not a good thing (Genesis 2.18). I am here to support you and to remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139.13-14), and you are loved (John 3.16). Nothing is impossible with God (Matthew 19.26). Whatever you are struggling with, whatever troubles you, know that God has a purpose for your life (Romans 8.28). As a Christian counselor, you can trust that my counseling approach will not stray from the teaching of the Bible. May God guide us as we work together to understand His purpose and His plan for the challenges in your life.
