Hello, and welcome — I’m so glad you’ve landed on my profile! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavior Specialist in Pennsylvania. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and have been working in the mental health field since 2014.
Most of my career has been in Intensive Behavioral Health Services (formerly BHRS), where I served as a therapeutic staff support (TSS), mobile therapist, and behavioral specialist. I worked primarily with children ages 2–16, much of that time in elementary school settings. My work focused on supporting children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with ADHD and mood disorders, while collaborating closely with parents and teachers.
I also have experience as an in‑house school therapist, again working with elementary‑aged students and their parents. Although my background is rooted in child and family work, I have also supported adults through IBHS and outpatient settings. Throughout my career, I’ve spent meaningful time counseling families and partnering with educators, giving me a well‑rounded understanding of the challenges parents and teachers face.
I am a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I have been in practice since 2016 and I currently work virtually with my clients via a HIPPA compliant Electronic Health Record {EHR} platform.
My clients come from various ethnic backgrounds and they range across all ages. I treat families, couples, children, adolescents, young adults, men and women and the elderly population are also included.
I guide my clients to see the strengths and beauty in themselves and believing that they are the experts in their own lives. I help them to change their thinking of self-worthlessness, teach them how to overcome their fears, their struggles with hopelessness, anxiety, stress, depression, self-blame, and lack. My clients learn how to begin to view the world as a place of joy and comfort where they can thrive and freely participate.
Through our collaborative efforts (Therapist and Client) the majority of my clients experience their healing.
I’m a trauma-informed therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting people through their healing journey. I bring deep empathy, compassion, and a holistic approach that honors your mind, body, and spirit.
As a marathoner, I understand the strength it takes to keep going — even when the path feels long. I believe in the power of listening to your intuition and gently rebuilding trust in yourself. A big dog lover, I also bring warmth, presence, and genuine care into every session.
This work is my true purpose, and I feel incredibly grateful to do it. I especially love working with motivated clients who are ready to invest in themselves — those who want to explore different ways of healing, take ownership of their growth, and show up with courage and insight.
If you’ve experienced trauma and are ready to do the meaningful work of healing, I would be truly honored to walk this path with you. You’ve already taken a brave step by being here, and I’m so glad you are.

I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I also have experience working with those in crisis and those looking for support in tough times. I also work with clients of diverse cultural backgrounds. Hi, I am Tamar, LCSW, I specialize in children, families, and their contextual systems as well as with young adults and adults who present with depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, parenting, and relationship and family conflict. I offers a unique, comprehensive approach to chronic pain using mind-body healing. I invite you to connect further and discuss.
Welcome. Taking the step to seek support is not always easy, and I’m glad you’re here.
As a licensed counselor, I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate the challenges of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. Additionally, I am well versed in helping others establish healthy relationships. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices tailored to your unique experiences and goals.
I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you better understand and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, creating space for more balanced and empowering perspectives. At the same time, I incorporate principles like radical acceptance to support you in making peace with what cannot be changed, while still moving forward in meaningful ways.
Because trauma is not only something we think about—but something we carry—I also integrate body-based (psychosomatic) approaches. These techniques help you reconnect with your body, process stored stress or trauma, and build a greater sense of safety and regulation from within.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, build resilience, and develop practical tools for lasting change. You don’t have to do this alone—healing is possible, and I’m here to walk alongside you.
I am a therapist dedicated to helping individuals and families create meaningful, lasting change—especially during some of the most challenging and complex moments in their lives. My work is rooted in the belief that behavior makes sense when we understand the experiences behind it, and that real progress comes from addressing both the “why” and the “how” of change.
I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and families who are navigating trauma, behavioral concerns, and system involvement. Many of the clients I serve have experienced disruptions in attachment, high-stress environments, or significant life events that continue to impact their relationships, emotional well-being, and decision-making.
My approach is structured, active, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, EMDR, and DBT. I focus on helping clients build insight into their patterns while also developing practical skills they can use in everyday life. I believe therapy should not only be a place to process experiences, but also a space to build tools, accountability, and confidence.
I work to create a therapeutic environment that is consistent, supportive, and honest. I balance compassion with clear expectations, helping clients feel understood while also challenging them to grow. Whether I am working with an individual or an entire family system, my goal is to strengthen relationships, improve emotional regulation, and support long-term stability.
At Velocity Counseling, the focus is on forward movement—helping clients move beyond survival mode and toward a more stable, connected, and purposeful life.

I have particular experience working with substance use and recovery, codependency, relationship and family patterns, shame, identity, and harmful or high-control religious experiences.

Together, we’ll make sense of what has brought you here while helping you move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and aligned with who you truly are.
Seeking greater serenity in your life takes courage. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

And, yes, a touch of humor is my secret weapon. What sets me apart? It’s tough to ask for help, but you’re here so congrats! I like to make this process as smooth and painless as possible for my clients because we all know that therapy is not easy. We will work through your current life stressors and/or past traumas together in a collaborative approach while building rapport, teaching skills, and offering validation along the way. I have worked in various settings with adults in a partial hospital setting (PHP), intensive outpatient setting (IOP-TOP), as well as an individual outpatient setting. I have extensive training in treating Borderline Personality Disorder with the evidenced based approach of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am also trained in EMDR therapy as well as Prolonged Exposure (PE) in treating PTSD. As a mom of two littles myself, I thrive working with fellow moms, those trying to conceive, who are actively pregnant or struggling with pregnancy, and/or in the postpartum period in motherhood and also, within their relationship. I have completed trainings through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in order to support those experiencing Perinatal Mood Disorders. I am a strengths and skills based therapist looking to help you decrease stressors and increase skillful behaviors.
Many people are unsure how to help their family members or friends that are struggling with mental health or substance use, or where to seek help for themselves. I have spent the last 6 years working in substance use and mental health treatment and have had the privilege of meeting and working with adolescents, young adults, and adults in individual, group, and family settings.
