LCSW, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello, I am Jamie and have been a Social Worker for 20 years. In that time I have worked with all kinds of people, and their support networks, from the very young to hospice. I enjoy helping people make the changes they want in their lives. I can help you learn the tools that will get to the next chapter you want to open.
In our first sessions, we will spend time getting to know each other, creating a therapeutic relationship, we will discuss what you want to work on or change, then set goals. We will always revisit the goals and our interventions to make sure they are still relevant, and what you want. I like to start sessions with a review of the last session, and end with a wrap up of what was discussed and the plans for change until the next session.
I tend to be transparent and concrete, I do not believe it helps anyone to hide things or not be honest. I believe in gentile challenging to help people reach their goals. Change is hard and intimidating, I recognize that and like to use out of the box thinking to decrease those concerns and help make meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
I enjoy working with young people, starting at 12, all the way to the older population. I can help people looking for parenting skills, young people wanting to work on socialization and relationships, or who are looking to work through some tough situations. Also, we can work together to get through the challenges of what different stages of life brings, taking care of parents while still raising children, entering into the retirement years, and even working through terminal illness and the last life stages.
I have an eclectic style of therapy, as I try to meet you where you are and learn your likes and dislikes and how we can use those to build lasting change.
