I value evidence-based treatment! I know approaching mental health can often feel confusing, undefined, and can elicit questions like, "Where do I even begin?" I want to create a roadmap to feeling better. We'll define markers of progress and track your momentum over time. By creating clear indicators for success, we'll have a clear, grounded approach to treatment. Further, it is incredibly important to me that you feel safe and welcomed in-session. I know that treatment can be a very vulnerable process, so your comfort is of the utmost importance. We can move at whatever speed feels best to you. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi, I am so glad you have decided to take a step in healing from your past. I specialize in working with people who grew up in families where there was some type of instability or turmoil. This could have been from addiction, mental health, abuse, neglect, anger, poverty, foster care placement, religious trauma or anything that caused some form of trauma. Oftentimes times those who grew up in this type of situation feel responsible for it or that somehow they should have fixed it.

I work with adults who may look like they have things together on the outside but internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply exhausted from carrying everything on their own. You may be dealing with anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief or loss, major life changes, identity concerns, work stress, or just the feeling that something in your life needs to change. My approach is warm, straightforward, and down-to-earth. Therapy with me is a real conversation—not a clinical interrogation or a place where you have to say the “right” thing. We’ll work together to understand what’s happening, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical ways to move forward. I also incorporate evidence-based approaches, including CBT, while tailoring therapy to the person in front of me. You won’t get a one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling understood, but also with greater clarity about yourself and where you want to go next. In addition to my therapy work, I also work as an ICU nurse, which has deeply influenced my perspective on stress, trauma, and the complexity of being human. That experience allows me to bring a grounded, compassionate, and realistic understanding of life’s pressures into the therapy room. Outside of work, I value quiet, restorative time. I enjoy working out, staying active, and taking care of my own well-being. I love spending time at home with my husband and our pets, and I’m a big fan of unwinding with a good movie. I believe balance, connection, and moments of calm are essential — not just luxuries — and I often help clients explore how to build more of that into their own lives.

I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

I started my career in human services at Northeast Treatment Centers in Philadelphia, PA where, over the course of 7 years, I worked as Youth Advocate for adjudicated adolescents, lead clinician for a community-based treatment team and outpatient therapist. After becoming a licensed psychotherapist in 2014, I worked as an outpatient therapist for multiple companies in the Philadelphia area where I helped clients manage or overcome symptoms related to anxiety, stress, trauma, depression and more. My therapeutic approach is strongly rooted in humanistic psychology. As described in an article from the Association for Humanistic Psychology, this approach offers a "crucial opportunity to lead our troubled culture back to its own healthy path. More than any other therapy, Humanistic-Existential therapy models democracy. It imposes ideologies of others upon the client less than other therapeutic practices. Freedom to choose is maximized. We validate our client's human potential."

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and life transitions, and I work from a warm, collaborative, and supportive approach. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in cycles of self-doubt and overthinking. Together, we slow things down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and build practical tools that support real, lasting change. For many years, I worked as a retail manager, where I gained valuable insight into human behavior, conflict resolution, and the importance of mentoring others through life's challenges. Those experiences taught me that every person has a unique story, and with the right support and perspective, they can discover the strength and wisdom they already possess. I approach each person with honesty, compassion, an open mind, and a willingness to think outside the box. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I believe in helping people uncover the answers that align with their own journey, empowering them to recognize their strengths and make meaningful connections that foster growth and healing. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for around 15 years. I am grateful to have found this career because it is my passion. I have mostly worked in the mental health field but also have a few years of experience in drug and alcohol counseling. I can also provide information, education and support from the drug and alcohol field along with my knowledge and training in the mental health field. I hope to create a safe, comfortable, laid-back space where you are able to talk about the day or talk about the harder topics and know it all stays with me only. My style of counseling is having a purposeful conversation where I can suggest new ways to cope or new ways to understand yourself and/or others.

Welcome! I'm Dr. Lisa M. Mumau, and I'm honored you're considering taking this important step toward your mental health and well-being. I believe that every person has unique strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth, even during life's most difficult seasons. My role is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore challenges, gain insight, and develop practical skills that promote lasting change. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I tailor treatment to each client's individual needs, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Together, we'll identify your goals, build on your existing strengths, and develop effective coping strategies to help you navigate stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, trauma, or other challenges. I have advanced clinical training and experience working with individuals across a variety of settings, using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, and other integrative techniques as appropriate. My focus is on helping clients gain practical tools while also fostering deeper self-awareness, resilience, and confidence. Whether you're seeking support during a difficult time or working toward personal growth, I am committed to meeting you with empathy, respect, and encouragement. Therapy is a partnership, and I look forward to working alongside you as you build the life you want to live.

I'm Eugene Garmon. I work with people who may look like they have it all together but are carrying more than others realize. My work often focuses on men, athletes, and people navigating anxiety, depression, or major life changes. I understand that opening up can take time, especially if you're used to handling things on your own. I aim to make our conversations feel comfortable and honest so we can understand what's going on and find a way forward together.
