Kristin Jackson
Are you experiencing difficulty moving forward with life after trauma, loss or unanticipated setbacks in life? Do anxiety and worry prevent you from fully engaging and living the life you want to live? Hello my name is Kristin and I enjoy helping survivors of trauma and loss and those struggling with anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders heal from past experiences and develop confidence and courage to navigate life's challenges. Although the process looks different for everyone, I strive to help clients understand and empower themselves through identifying and building upon personal strengths, connecting to values, understanding connections between past experiences and current challenges and providing skills and support to process difficult emotions and confront triggers and fears as they emerge in everyday life.
Having survived multiple losses, family estrangement and unexpected transitions, I possess a unique perspective on healing, and moving forward after loss, trauma or estrangement. It is my greatest honor to utilize the combination of my personal experience and professional training to help you face your fears and begin rebuilding your life, relationships and self-esteem after something awful or unexpected has happened.
First session
The goal of the first session is to get to know you and your needs to determine if we are a good fit. I will ask questions to get to know you and your reasons for seeking therapy at this time. I will respond to any questions you have about treatment. I will offer my impressions of what would be helpful and discuss my approach to conducting meaningful and effective therapy sessions. The first session should feel like a relaxed conversation as opposed to an interview.
Strengths
As a survivor of multiple losses, I blend my personal experience with professional training which affords a unique perspective on healing and moving forward after significant losses, traumas or setbacks. My therapeutic approaches focuses on creating therapeutic experiences and developing skills that directly translate to life outside of therapy.
Ideal clients
At this point in my career, I work best with high-performing adults with some element of grief, trauma or anxiety that is preventing them from thriving. My approach to therapy is active and collaborative with us working as partners to help you achieve your goals. My ideal clients are goal-oriented, open to receiving feedback, stepping out of their comfort zone and challenging limiting assumptions. Clients who obtain the best results are committed to applying concepts and insights derived from therapy to their everyday life.
