I enjoy working with kids, teens and adults to be helpful with addressing mental health challenges and finding effective strategies for improving quality of life. I have extensive experience in treating trauma, depression and anxiety, among other mental health challenges. I proudly support LGBQTIA+ and neurodiverse individuals and communities.
All behavior is purposeful. This means that we never do anything for no reason. Even when our behavior appears confusing or counterproductive to our values, our behavior has meaning and purpose. Therapy is a setting where we can gain insight about the origins of our perceptions, thinking and behavior. With clearer understanding, we are better equipped to identify factors within our control and consider alternative responses to our conditions. We gain awareness of the needs that are being met by potentially self-defeating thinking or behaviors and have a special opportunity to practice new thinking in the safety of therapy.
