I'm a licensed therapist with a passion for helping people unearth the strengths that are already inside of them. I enjoy supporting individuals navigating identity, life transitions, relationships, and the challenges that come along with being human.

I value showing up as my genuine human self and bringing humor and lightheartedness into the room alongside the heavier moments.

My approach draws from different modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help identify what matters most to you and take steps towards those goals; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to help you build skills to navigate difficult emotions; and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), to help you recognize and challenge self-critical thoughts. I believe therapy is an opportunity to better understand yourself and explore what may be keeping you stuck, and you've already taken the first step by being here.

First session

Our first session is an open dialogue for us to get to know each other. I'll ask questions around what is bringing you to therapy, what your hopes are for our time together, and what you've been experiencing. We'll also delve a little into your history and anything else that will better help me understand you. Opening up to a new person is a gradual process, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change in therapy. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, a little more comfortable with the idea of therapy, and confident as we begin to build your map for change.

Strengths

I believe meaningful therapy involves a balance of compassion and challenge. I will always approach you with understanding, but I'll also encourage you to question patterns that may no longer be serving you. I work hard to help you understand the "why" behind your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I value showing up as my genuine human self and bringing humor and lightheartedness into the room alongside the heavier moments. Most of all, I believe therapy works best when we're both on the same team, working together toward what matters most to you.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with individuals who are navigating life's everyday challenges, whether that's managing stress or adjusting to a new chapter in life. I also enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals who are exploring their identities, working toward self-acceptance, or simply looking for a space where they can show up as themselves. Maybe you find yourself overthinking situations, struggling with self-confidence, or feeling stuck in the same patterns you can't seem to shake. Whatever brings you to therapy, we can work together to make sense of it and figure out where to go from there.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected, and sometimes we can get caught in patterns without even realizing it. I use CBT to help you recognize these connections, question thoughts that may be contributing to how you're feeling, and explore different ways or responding to challenging situations. The goal isn't to think positively all the time, but create a more balanced perspective.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

It's natural for us to want to avoid uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, and sometimes our efforts to get rid of them can leave us feeling even more stuck. I use ACT to help you develop a different relationship with these experiences, identify what matters most to you, and take meaningful steps towards the life you want. ACT helps us learn how to make room for difficult emotions without letting them drive the bus.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Sometimes our emotions can feel overwhelming, which makes it hard to know how to respond in the moment. I use DBT to help you develop practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, coping with stressful situations, communicating your needs, and building healthier relationships. We'll explore how to sue these skills in your everyday life so you feel more confident handling challenges as they arise.
