Elizabeth Daughtry

LPC (she/her)7 years of experience

I strive to create a therapy experience that feels warm, genuine, and approachable. Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, compassionate, and easy to talk to. I value authenticity, curiosity, and maintaining a nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable showing up as your true self. Having lived in different parts of the world, I appreciate the richness of diverse cultures, perspectives, and life experiences, and I believe healing is deeply influenced by the unique lens through which each person experiences the world. My approach is person-centered, holistic, and less focused on feeling overly clinical, with an emphasis on fostering a meaningful human connection. I aim to provide a supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore their experiences, cultivate resilience, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and aligned with their values.

First session

During our first session, my focus is on getting to know you beyond the information gathered during intake. I want to understand who you are as a person—your strengths, experiences, values, relationships, and what has shaped your journey. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from our work together, and any past experiences you've had with counseling, including what was helpful and what may not have felt like the right fit. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of healing, so our initial sessions are designed to create a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space where you can begin to feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will collaborate to develop goals that feel meaningful and authentic to you while moving at a pace that honors your individual needs and readiness for change.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood. I value patience and believe healing unfolds at a pace that feels safe and meaningful for each individual. I strive to hold space for clients with compassion and curiosity while also encouraging growth, insight, and personal responsibility. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe lasting change happens not only within our sessions, but through practicing new skills, reflecting on experiences, and taking intentional steps toward healing between sessions. My goal is to support and empower clients while gently holding them accountable to the goals they have identified as important to their well-being and overall quality of life.

Ideal clients

I work withadults, with a spec ial interest in supporting women who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and challenges related to self-esteem, relationships, and daily stressors. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered as they develop coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build greater confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being to create a more meaningful and fulfilling quality of life.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach in individual therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to life's challenges. CBT helps clients build practical coping skills, improve emotional well-being, increase self-awareness, and make meaningful changes that support their goals and overall quality of lif

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills into individual therapy to help clients better understand and manage emotions, cope with stress, improve communication, and build healthier relationships. Together, we work on developing mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and boundary-setting skills in a supportive, personalized way. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and empowered while creating meaningful and lasting changes in their daily lives.

EMDR

I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce the emotional impact of past events, and develop more adaptive beliefs about themselves and their lives. EMDR can support healing from trauma, anxiety, negative self-beliefs, and other experiences that continue to affect daily functioning. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable, helping you move toward greater emotional balance, resilience, and lasting change.
